Floor and tables are very dirty. You build your own burrito (menu is very confusing) and you order at the bar...no servers. Employees could care less if you're there or not. We were very disappointed, not going back.

They double booked bands and cancelled the one band we were there to see just hours before the gig. The band that was there sucked. Service was slow and horrible. The food was a let down.

Such a cute place, inside and out, amazing staff, amazing burritos, and I can't wait to go back to Boone just to eat here!

Has great food and good choice of beers. If you like hot stuff they can make it hot! My family is big on having something leaving a burn on the tongue and man we got it. If you don't like it hot they have other stuff too so your covered. This is a hole in the wall so it does... More

Three of us tried three different burritos...The Jerk, the Ragin' Cajun, and Thai Me Up. All three were excellent. Be aware that the salsa served on top of The Jerk and The Ragin' Cajun is no joke and has some kick. We loved all three but the winner for us was the Thai Me Up. I actually like inside, reminds... I think the review title pretty much says it all but to be fair I will elaborate. You wait in line and order at a bar. There are no servers. Yet the have a tip jar prominently displayed at the register. For what? The floors and tables were filthy. It looked like the floors hadn't been mopped in weeks and... More

Burritos are pretty huge, so if you're hungry- order one of those! I've tried other stuff on the menu and it's so-so. They do charge 25 or 50 cents for extra stuff (including lettuce and tomato!) to put into a build your own burrito, which is a little odd. Wait staff was alright. I will probably be back.

We have been coming to The Black Cat for many years and continue to come back every time are in Boone. This time we got a gourmet burrito that was big enough for two of to share and be full. For memory's sake, we always get a rock-bottom priced PBR to drink (though we are craft beer fanatics, they have... More

OK I must say I judged this restaurant by appearance almost as soon as I walked in the door. It has cement floors and mismatched tables. You order at the counter and find a seat on your own. They give you a table marker so they know which order to bring you...a Fisher Price train, a toy dinosaur, a yellow... More

Our AppState grad son recommended the Black Cat. A cross between order fast food like, seat yourself and they serve your food. Burritos were very good. Lots to choose from. Not your regular Mexican flavors. We had the Thai me up and the Sage one. Try one!
