Good food

We had a veggie pizza and the trout. Both were very good. Good variety of entrees, pizza and sandwiches, so something for everyone. I would have liked if they had some beers on tap, but they only have bottle/cans. Server was very nice, but a little slow. Would definitely go again.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service! On vacation and decided to try the Red Onion. We were not disappointed. From the front door to our exit the staff did an excellent job. Our meals were as ordered and delicious! Thank you Red Onion! You were just added to a favorite list!

Great....really says it all. Fast, friendly and attentive service. My wife and I had lunch combos. French onion soup was fantastic. Sons both said burgers were some of the best they ever had. Onion ring appetizer was great...they just need a little dipping sauce. Clean interior and exterior. Outside seating was refreshing. Read reviews on trip advisor before we came... More

Chose the restaurant because of the range of options for our family with three young children. Entrees were very good, and setting is good for families or date night. Good wine and dessert menu.

From out of town, driving down the road, saw a lot of cars, figured place must be good? Boy was I right. Fantastic place for lunch. Lots of good choices. We had the Club sandwich w/fries and the Salmon salad. Both terrific. Tea was good and so was the service. Sat outside on the patio and enjjoyed the cool breeze.... More

Have visited on two nights in a row. Famous for onion rings, they have a very broad menu. Whatever your taste from salads to steak along with great appetizers and desserts. The staff is friendly, prompt, and good. A definite stop in this popular place owned by the same folks since 1985. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

A lunchtime gem. Specials are very well priced, include local produce, and daily soup creations. Service is attentive.

We went to this restaurant quite often when my oldest daughter went to Appalachian State University. We had not been there since she graduated (2011) and tried it before concert we attended last night in Boone. Red Onion has indoor and outdoor seating but unfortunately the outdoor seating does not give you a view of the mountains. The menu is... More

I started loving Red Onion nearly thirty years ago, when I worked nearby and I could get great food delivered quickly and cheaply. The whole time I was at App State, Red Onion was a favorite for me and my friends...it was always equally good for a dinner date, for a larger gathering...and it was also a great place to... More

Two couples on the way to the college for an entertaining evening stopped here for dinner. We all had Very Good meals and great service. The only drawback to this restaurant is the "view" if you sit outside. We were looking at the parking lot and the road. A few large plants would make the front of this restaurant much... More
