Great food!

We went around 5:15 on a Friday. Was sat immediately and it was packed by the time we left. Awesome food, huge portions. Had the jumbo shrimp and filet steak combo and worth every penny! We spent about $30/pp.

This place is horrible! 80 bucks for lunch with two adults and one child we didn't order crazy! Tip was added to check automatically! That is why the waiter was bad

We have been making annual trips to the Boone/Blowing Rock area for the last 30 years. And with each and every trip we always schedule at least one trip to Makoto's. We have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Our most recent was for lunch on 2/15/15, and again, everything was perfect. We were taken straight to... More

This is a typical hibachi restaurant, however, food and service has always been great. We love the sautéed bananas that they give at the end of the meal. Make sure to go here early in your trip because you'll will have LOTS of leftovers for the rest of your vacation.

Very good food, nice presentation, wait staff was excellent and very attentive. We celebrated a birthday and the extra special private happy birthday song was very nice.

I came into makotos the other night with my wife and we were seated with two other families. Our waitress deserved 5 stars. When she wasn't assisting us she was helping others. She spoke Spanish to the other families to help them understand the menu. Our chef was also incredible. His food was amazing!! I will be back very soon!!

We were seated quickly and our waiter was very prompt-- drinks and soup came out super fast (which was good because our kids were starving). Bar drinks came out fast as well. The menu selection is about average for a Japanese steakhouse with the exception that they also offer Chicken Livers. The kids and I find Chicken livers very unappetizing... More

We love this restaurant GREAT food, better than some table side cooking we have eaten at. Wished they would open on in my home town. Quick service, for a Saturday night at 5PM we were able to get a table.

Fast seating, but you sit in one long row so you cannot possibly converse with your friends. Limited menu. Every single meal includes super boring BOILED carrots (what the heck?) and rice. Blah. Tiny bit of soup, but it's good. Teeny tiny salad. Predictable "performance" by the cook, not even worth watching. Not cheap. You get one bit of chopped... More
