Overall, the atmosphere was nice and lively. Our table was "available" upon arrival after putting in a reservation the night before via their online site, which was nice. However, as we were taken to the table and asked to take a sit, the hostess realized our table had not been cleaned. After inadequately cleaning the table, which we had to... More

I've visited several times over the past few years with colleagues and family. I've been most pleased with lunches. If there is a game going on service can be exceedingly slow and a bit sloppy.....We went in the evening for my son's birthday and his water had paper from a straw in it; even though it did not come with... I am a resident of Boone and this is one of my favorite restaurants. I am always excited to go eat at Portofino because of their specials, which are always unique and delicious. I have not ordered off the regular menu in years because the dishes on special can not be passed up.

We visited the High Country on the evening of November 23 to pick our family Christmas tree. We arrived to our hotel at 8:30, hungry & looking for a bite to eat. We had read reviews on Trip Advisor and narrowed our choices down to two before consulting with the front desk at our hotel. The front desk recommended this... More

We were on vacation in the area and returning from a show in the Bristol, TN area and trying to determine what was open and what was not on a Sunday evening. We called this restaurant from the road around 730pm to check on their hours. We were told they close at 9pm and so being about 45 minutes away... More

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. I sincerely apologize for the miscommunication and the unprofessional manner in which it was handled. Once a quarter we have to close early to prepare our kitchen area for the cleaning of our hood system. Unfortunately, the night you came was one of the four nights during the... More

We tried this place after a local merchant highly recommended it. We visited with my parents and 3 kids. Normally you don't expect a kids menu with food this good, but they even had good choices for the kids. Sirloin spiced pasta, spaghetti, pizza, and Italian lemon creme cake were all excellent. Prices were very reasonable and portions were huge.... More

We own a home in Beech Mountain and have made numerous trips over the past six years and now I am really upset that we just found Cafe Portofino. A patient of my daughters recommended coming here and she suggested it on Sunday on our way back from Tweetsie Railroad. We put it in GPS and the next thing we... More

The spiced sirloin dinner is not to be mixed. You can get it with chicken, portobello (my choice), or shrimp. It has a nice, sweet, spicy, cream based sauce. And the sweet balsamic salad dressing is to die for. So are their yeast rolls!

I get to the Boone area about once per year and I make it a point to go to Cafe Portofino every year for their fantastic food. I haven't had a bad item yet! From the Garlic Knots, to the Grown Up Macaroni and Cheese, to the Spiced Sirloin ... it's all GREAT! And the service is wonderful ... smiling... More

Went there after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. They take reservations which is a plus on a busy football weekend but the service was super slow. It is a college town bar n restaurant so quite noisy and pretty plain. Took over an hour to receive our food and it was mediocre at best. I had "The Rose" which was a... More
