Nice rustic atmosphere with great menu selections

Very rustic, great menu, hard to choose. You can choose your pasta and your sauce, as well as many Italian dishes on the menu. I had penne bolognese and it was excellent.

Casas Rustica is a high country favorite. Often you see Appalachian State students and their families. This is a very family friendly restaurant and you never go hungry. It has a varied menu and the food and service is always good.

Arrived at 7:03 for our 7:00 Open Table reservation and were seated promptly. We placed our order at 7:15, did not see wait staff again for 20 minutes. Our wine arrived at 7:45, some bread a short time later. But by 8:15 our starter salads had not been served. We explained this to the GM, who told us that they... More

After one hour at our table, we had no food and our waitress could not be found. We asked the hostess at the front desk if we could get some bread for our young son. After 10 minutes the bread appeared. Still no salads or entrees (though other tables that had arrived after us had been served). We asked for... More

We thought it was a bit pricey for Italian food. All sorts of pasta on the menu, but no pizza. They consider themselves upscale. Someone obviously forgot one grandson's formaggio bread, as we had to remind them and it came out much later than the entrees. Otherwise, food and service were good. Lighting is poor to create "ambiance." Ha! I'd... More

The meal was very good from start to finish.. They make some of their own pasta so I ordered the Seafood (shrimp and scallop) with cheese purses. The sauce was similar to a Mornay and tasted spectacular, the pasta purses were cute little bundles of pasta with cheese inside, delicious.

My family and I loved this restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the atmosphere! I ordered the spinach lasagna, and it brought me back to my childhood when we used to make homemade spinach ravioli with my grandmother. My 16 yr old son, the picky eater of the family, had cheese ravioli and was not disappointed at all, ate... More

The food was outstanding. We ordered Chicken Picata which was prepared in a lemon sauce. It was terrific. The entree came with a house salad or soup, and a selection of a side item. We had spaghetti as one side & the other person had snow peas with mushrooms. The service was good but this restaurant is a little pricey.

Nice atmosphere. Great device. Food was tasty and the portions large enough to share. Large menu with many delicious options. It was a nice meal with attentive service.
