This was the real deal for Mexican food in Boone, NC. The soft tacos were prepared to perfection and the huaraches are great. The place has limited seating but offers the best Mexican food in the area. A+++++

I've eaten at this restaurant for the past three years. Best Mexican place in Boone, and I refuse to eat anywhere else. However, the past few months, the service has gone downhill tremendously. For some reason they got rid of the older girls and replaced them with snotty high schoolers who don't even pay attention to what they're doing. We've... More

This is our favorite place to go for real Mexican food! The food is fresh, delicious and is a great value. The staff is very friendly, efficient and always ready to help in any way. The location is small, but cozy (you are not paying for fancy decor and high overhead). I always get 2 meals out of my fajitas... More

This is not a place to go for ambiance but the food is delicious. It's very cheap too. It's where all the Mexicans eat so you know it's the real deal. Delicious pico and all of our dishes were prepared well. Definitely suggest it for a yummy lunch out!

Most of the reviews refer to the hole in the wall, that is very accurate. It is a small location, an older building, and doesn't appear all that nice. Our server was very friendly, very attentive and helpful. We asked for an item on the menu that only comes in chicken to be made with beef and they gladly accommodated.... More

Very tasty fajitas, service was top notch. Not a very big restaurant but its cozy size was certainly not a detriment. We will certainly return to try out some of there other menu items.

Some one told me about a Mexican restaurant on NC 105 that has great fish tacos. Stopped in to grab something to go. No fish tacos. BUT, WOW, the grilled chicken taco was terrific on a delightful corn tortilla (actually double tortilla used on each and had choice of corn or flour) with amazing flavor. Ground beef taco was also... I easily say this is one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant, not because the food would appease a foodie, but because Taqueria El Paso is consistently good and the folks are consistently nice. In the high country service, management and quality is hit-or-miss... not at Taqueria. The tostadas de camerones are the most reasonable and... More

Had lunch with my brother and found the food to be just okey tex-mex. Service was good and staff very friendly. Will only go again if others want to try.

Not fancy but a nice place to have lunch. Food was very good Mexican and service was pleasant. We've spent several summers here in Boone and wish we'd discovered it long ago.
