Boone is known for its sustainable practices. This restaurant combines local food, careful management of resources and great taste. It is often packed for good reason. The service is good (it used to be slow but they fixed that) and the food very tasty. Its not expensive and you can enjoy the local downtown atmosphere while you eat. The bonus... More

I haven't been here a lot, but many friends have, and the meals I have had have been very tasty. Nicely different than the usual fare. The only trick is they don't take credit cards - but they do have an ATM....FYI....

My boyfriend and I went when he was moving in to college. We decided to sit outside to see the view, but it was cold and windy so it was a bad idea. It took a while to get our food, but they were really busy. The place looked very eccentric inside, and so did all of the employees. Our... More

I have been here a handful of times over the last few years. Sometimes on my own for lunch on a work day, other times with family. The food is always delicious. A favorite of mine is there egg & cheese biscuit. Simple, but so yummy. I always have had friendly and helpful service. Best to not stop there if... More

Used to go about bi-monthly! Started cash only policy a while back! Won't hold that against them! But enough that we have not been back.

The quality of food here is fantastic! I have some dietary restrictions (for GERD) that have made it harder for me to eat here now though because so much of the deliciousness is also spicy. I wish there were some more options using seasonings like rosemary, cilantro, and other creative ways to allow folks like me to enjoy without being... More

Bring cash because they do not take credit cards. Good food. A little pricey but worth it. Can't figure out why all the clocks are set to 4:20 in the restaurant.

I was part of a party of 4 and we were waiting behind a party of 3. There was a a table for 4 open and a table for 3 open. The hostess seats the party of 3 at a table for 4 people leaving the table for 3 open and my party of 4 waiting. WHAT? She should have... More

This is a friendly place with an very interesting menu, but we had a variety of dishes and didn't like any of them. Everything (meatloaf, pasta, potatoes, beans, biscuits) truly tasted like dirt (even the coffee). It also didn't seem particularly fresh (not stale, just processed). It's also very slow, which is sometimes fine, but keep it in mind if... More

After eating at Hob Nob, I can't imagine a trip to Boone without a trip to Hob Nob. Big Menu, all ethnic (example, an Indian, Mexican, Southern, Thai section, etc). The service was excellent and the food was good, although it trended toward vegetarian, even with the meat dishes.
