Amazing! What a special dining experience! Started with drinks on veranda during sunset. Wine steward came out and gave personal recommendations. We were then escorted to our table where they had laid petals on our table in a heart shape because they knew it was our anniversary. The food was ridiculously amazing! I would recommend everything we ordered! Prawn appetizer,... More

Ok...New Year's Eve and I found the menu to be appealing for the 4 course extravaganza. Service was great and they were very attentive. The food, however, was just so so. Small portions (tasting menu size) rather than an actual "course" was a bit disappointing given the price. I doubt I will return.

We certainly enjoyed having you at Rowland's for our New Year's Celebration. We strive to provide a memorable experience and I am disheartened to hear our efforts failed to meet your expectations. I appreciate your candor and your thoughts will certainly be taken into account when planning our next event. A restaurant's concept and the guests expectation sometimes, as is... More

Outstanding young, and adventurous Chef. The house is fully restored to it's former glory, which great views of the Appalachians.

Rowlands was a complete surprise as my friends and I stayed at Westglow on a spa package. We expected dinner to be creative but light like the included lunch. It was a total surprise to have our package include two appetizers, entree and dessert for dinner. The setting is intimate in one of the rooms of the Westglow mansion. If... More

Frankly, we didn't expect such a creative and gourmet experience in the NC mountains! Everything from the seasonal cocktails to the high quality tea was exceptional. We were warned that Rowland is pricey, and it is, but we live in DC where meals can cost more than this one did and not be nearly as delicious, graciously-served nor have such... More

I was looking for a special place and thanks to Trip Advisor and Open Table, I found it. If you have a special occasion, go here. I highly recommend that you time your reservation with the sunset. We had 6:30 reservations but got there at 6 so we could sit on the gorgeous front porch. The staff brought us tea... More

Made reservations after exploring tripadvisor reviews. It was a wild night with thick clouds, and so we had a little difficulty finding this out of the way spot. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Excellent recommendations from our wait staff. The meal was a little slow in arriving, but worth the wait.

this is an exceptional restaurant . the food is artfully prepared to emphasize taste of primary ingredients and never bury with heavy sauce or over spicing. chef has a light touch. wife says " most creative combination of ingredients, delicate tastes, beautifully presented." we agree this was one of the best meals we have enjoyed together. atmosphere, service, live pianist playing Beethoven piano... Set a new level of fine dining for us. Gazpacho, heirloom tomato salad, sea bass and lamb chops. Presentation on each gave feast for your eyes and confirmed by the tastes. Perfectly prepared, great, unusual flavors. Wouldn't normally order seafood in the mountains (we live at the ocean) this was a true exception of well prepared. Service: knowledgeable, attentive without... More
