Local Secret

Not sure if it's meant to be or not, but this restaurant is on Hwy 321, the bypass around Blowing Rock that goes into downtown Boone, NC. There's always some kind of road work going on, so you tend to watch the road more than what's off to the side. This restaurant isn't really noticeable unless... read more

The server Cindy or the boss as she claimed to be was very rude and condescending, the food is average, pasta plate $15. I'd rather go down the road a couple miles to Bellas in Boone where they have much better Italian food and Amazing Service. This this restaurant needs some help.

Very, very slow service. Had to get my own silverware, napkins etc. Asked a question about the menu and was told that everyone asks them that. Asked fire a Caesar salad and was told that everyone else serves those in town, we don't. Good average, expensive. Lots of extra charges. $75.00 fur 2 adults and 2 kids. Must be better... More

My favorite is the Chicken Marcela, my husband loves the lasagna. Great Chianti at a reasonable price. We love the food and owners. Service is friendly and fast.

After reading some of the reviews, we decided to go to Papa Joe's for late lunch today. We got there at 2pm, and we were the only people there. The waitress was competent, but not friendly with zero personality. After she took my order she just stared at my husband until I asked him what he wanted. We didn't see... More

It was clean and friendly but food wasn't very good. An Italian restaurant that can't make spaghetti? You found one. The rest of our party had a turkey club and a Reuben. Everyone was very disappointed. There are a lot of restaurants close by, try one of those!!

We drove through all the road construction on the Hwy to get to Papa Joe's. We had a thin crust pizza. It was pretty good. The server was friendly and fairly attentive. On the way out, we bought cinnamon rolls that were available in the bakery counter. Those were delicious rolls. Yum!!
