I've been to England twice and never experienced the "Ploughman's Lunch." So I thought this would be a good place to try it. I wasn't disappointed. Very nice pub atmosphere and good food.

Nice little bar / restaurant right in the centre of town. Very friendly staff, decent food, good wine range and nice selection of craft beers. My wife and I went a few times during our stay, mainly for drinks and light meals. All good and no negatives. However, the place gets very busy on the weekend, even in the off... More

They were busy but the food was delivered quickly and was very good. Service was extremely good. The bread pudding was off scale good. We'll do a repeat

historic and cozy pub that had a pretty good menu. I got the Shepard's pie and husband had the prime rib. Both were delicious. For you girly girls out there they had a pumpkintini as their special drink, wow! Delish!

My friends and I asked a local where we could have a bloody mary mid day and were told, "you can never go wrong at the Six Pence bar". He was right! Good service, good menu variety, and excellent drinks. The atmosphere is very much a pub, not a tourist stop. Good beer selection too from all the local NC... More

We stopped by for lunch and were promptly seated. We ordered our meals and they were delicious! The menu has excellent options and the portions are big. The restaurant has a dark wood pub decor just like an old English pub. There are pub selections on the menu but the fish and chips is outstanding as well as the huge... More

My friend at home suggested this location on a trip here two years ago. The food was good then and the food was good during this trip. We always look for healthy choices and love salad so the house salad was great for its $5.95 cost. I added the Banger appetizer because it was something I have never had before.... More
