Let me start with the positive. The food is fabulous. We really enjoyed a romantic meal together. Excellent thought was put into everything that came to our table. I highly recommend the Eggplant Frittes and Figs as appetizers. I had the trout and my boyfriend has the salmon. Both were flavorful and the portions were great. We would eat there... More

I would eat elsewhere. In reading other reviews, I was on the fence about eating here b/c of comments about rude, very rude, hostesses. Wish I had followed my instinct. It is hard to find. It was a heavy downpour with very limited visibility. We could not find it. Called the restaurant 7 times from the car...and no one ever... More

Bistro Roca has been a favorite for a long time but yesterday at brunch all three of us had an unpleasant and unbecoming of BR dinning experience. The crab sandwich for $16 had little crab and lots of breading and much to salty. One order for asparagus flat bread brought Antlers flatbread (the server admitted he keyed in wrong and... More

My friends and I had lunch here recently. It was very crowded on a busy Saturday in Blowing Rock and we waited in the bar for about 35 minutes. We did not have reservations, that would be a good idea for the future. This is about 2 blocks off the main street and an easy walk. Parking that day was... More

Referred by the inn keeper, this was a nice find. A quick, but somewhat confusing walk down the hill from the middle of town (the fog probably contributed to this!). Friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful wait staff. Tasty and generous portions. Although busy, the noise level was comfortable.

We go to Blowing Rock to see the fall colors. We had lunch at Bistro Roca today and it was great. My wife had one of their flat bread sandwiches and I had the chicken salad sandwich. These aren't your usual sandwiches. The chef puts his own touch on everything and the food is fantastic. Very nice atmosphere and presentation.

Make a reservation - it's a happening place! The food is delicious and they have create specials. It was a bit noisier that we like or expected for the type restaurant. It's off the beaten path.

My wife and I drove up from Asheville to take a look at the Fall color and we stopped in for lunch. We arrived at 12:30 and the restaurant was fairly quiet. However by the time we left, around 2:00 pm, it was packed. We both had the Habi Burger, which is their hamburger topped with a Habanero jam. The... More

We have been visitors to Blowing Rock for years. About a year ago my husband found it while searching on Open Table. We have been back many times since - each time has been great. Professional staff, nice atmosphere and AMAZING food. They are a bit hidden since they are not on the main drag but so worth searching for... More

Our group of 6 rated this our favorite. Food was excellent as was the service. Just a bit off of main street in Blowing Rock. Very warm and charming on a cool fall evening.
