I have been eating here for years. Canyons is always busy, they have a great staff, the food is very good-the scenery is beyond amazing. Be prepared to wait, they tend to be very busy!

If you like to see forever while you have lunch, here's a great place in the Blowing Rock area. The food and service are average, and there's plenty of parking--although you need to know this restaurant is right on US 321, which is being 4-laned through Blowing Rock, and traffic is a mess at times, and will be for a... This place is like a college bar with food. Oh, that's right, it's been a college bar for 70 years! But it has great history and the best view of the Johns River gorge of any restaurant. I love the fish and chips here, always piping hot. Got Buffalo wings this past week, and was impressed that the wings were... More

Went for supper at dark so can't speak for the view. There wasn't a wait. The service was pretty good. The place is rather old and could use a upgrade. Restrooms were not too good. Food was average. I had the ribeye. Overall okay. Wouldn't be my first choice of returning but would eat there again.

Great food and staff. Excellent local beers. The best place in Blowing Rock for a drink or dinner during sunset.

The Canyons has been a staple in Blowing Rock for many years. It's got a stellar view and a long loyal following. It's an easy restaurant for families and weary travelers. The these days food is mediocre and the decor needs serious cleaning and updating. It looks, tastes, smells and feels like it's stuck in the 1970's. Restaurants that don't... More

I had a wonderful vegie burger and a bowl of sweet potato soup. Both were absolutely delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better lunch with a fantastic view of fall leaves. Excellent service, in a cozy restaurant.

Canyons is a Blowing Rock favorite for many years. The views cannot be beaten ( be there at sunset) clear days are best of course. The staff is friendly and efficient. Food is good consistently and they have a nice bar. The place is busy most of the time so don't be in a hurry if you go. Chef John... More
