Best view of the gorge.

If it's warm and sunny there is no place better to be in Blowing Rock area than the deck of Canyons. Food is good, drinks are great and view is beautiful. Very casual place with good burgers. Yes, we traveled to Blowing Rock on last Saturday in July. It was a lovely drive, Never have been to Blowing Rock I was in awe with the view. When When we arrived at the "Canyons" for lunch I was excited about the view, even though it was slightly foggy, we got a window seat and placed our order. I... More

This is one of the very good restaurants that we visit every years while in the NC Mountains. We like to go on Sunday so we can eat from the brunch or main menu. Yesterday my wife had the black beans and rice and I had the pecan pancakes with Applewood bacon. Both were very good. Total price including tip... More

Nice view of Grandfather, grandmother and Mount Mitchell. Made a reservation, but did not need it. Service was fairly quick and polite. The inside was outdated and shows signs of wear, especially the floor. Outside deck was the highlight of the building. The food was fairly inexpensive but nothing really good. Barbecue sauce was definitely store bought. French fries were... More

The menu tends to be Mexican standard items. Very inexpensive. Extremely crowded on Jazz Sundays. Get there early for a seat or even to park your auto.. The music is heard inside the restaurant, but the best sweeping views of the Blue-Ridge Mountain range is on the porch.

We were going to stop at Blowing Rock but could not find any parking so we continued and found Canyons, plenty of parking! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waiter told us about the various uses of the building throughout the years, moonshine whisky distillery and a bordello downstairs to name a few. My husband had the ribeye steak and... More

Priced right but the black beans and rice were dry. However the view from the outside deck was breathtaking.

We'd heard about the view and that's what got us there. The outdoor seating offers a spectacular view of the mountains, and even though our evening was hazy it was still great. The service was not that great, and the food and prices were average.

Outside seating has a great view. Inside contrasts strongly and is a bit grim. Think well used dance hall converted to a restaurant and you'd be close. Service was prompt and waitress was very pleasant

The title of the review says it all. While it offers a spectacular view of the valley below, the food is very average bar food. Too bad. It could be amazing.
