A must visit when I am in town!

I've always liked this institution in Blowing Rock and have been coming here for over 20 years. I'm partial to Eastern North Carolina pork, so this is a compromise for me. The barbecue is not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it is also not the only thing on the menu. The ribs are... read more

I have been going to the Woodlands since I was a kid. Whenever I go back to visit, we ALWAYS order take out or even have events catered at our house. It's been quite a while since I actually went in to the restaurant to eat, however. My favorite thing on the menu as a kid was the chicken burrito,... More

We got the "pig out" and it is a ton of food. There were three of us and we had a lot left. Was not impressed with the ribs at all. BBQ pork and wins were good. Sides were...well, sides. There was a guitar picking singer there and it was wayyyyyy too loud for us. IF I went back, and... More

Great Quality and flavor, quick service and courteous, low or medium prices. The bench seats are hard and difficult to sit at, but the tables can accommodate a couple or a huge family of eight

From Michigan, wanted to try some southern BBQ while vacationing in the mountains. Other viewers recommended this place. Didn't care for the paper plates, our waiter could not tell us anything about the sauces. The pulled pork was okay but with the right combination of staff, sauces and menu info, our experience and my rating of this restaurant could have... More

Ate early on a Friday evening ( or late afternoon). We both had pulled pork sandwiches. Pork good, bread not so good. No entertainment at this hour. If what you want is quick service and typical barbecue, you'll get a filling meal at a great price.

This is a regular stop for us when in Blowing Rock. The BBQ is to die for, and their sauces are excellent. The service is fast, although our server was a bit surly, she did a great job. We were there early so we missed the usual entertainment, but if you are a BBQ fan, don't miss the Woodlands!

Great food, large portions, attentive staff and lots of fun. On vacation, I do not like to visit the same restaurant twice. But we made an exception with Woodlands. Both times that we visited, we enjoyed our meal, had great service and enjoyed live music. The chopped pork BBQ was delicious.

My wife and two young children picked Woodlands for one of our dining nights. When vacationing with two young kids, we have two simple rules...the food must be fast and the place need to be loud. Woodlands hit both for us. We dined on a Thursday night and were seated right away. We were thrilled as there was a live... More
