It seems the past year or so when we stop to eat BBQ, even the local places near our house, the meat has been getting less and less with more gristle. We stopped here on a recommendation of a friend who knows good food. ( he owns a NY style Deli in NC) the food was more than any of... More

I haven't eaten here since I was a kid, even though I live 20 minutes away. My husband and I ate here today and the food and flavors have not changed. Excellent bbq, we got a Pork BBQ Basket and a Beef BBQ Basket. Both delicious. Their coleslaw was really good, loved the hushpuppies, the bbq sauce is also delicious.... More

Everytime I get in the area I have to stop at Woodlands for some slow smoked chopped pork BBQ, Corn on the cob and baked beans. Some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten and I used to drive truck across the US and stopped at many places in the last 30+years. The waitress was great and like always greated... More

The live entertainment was concert quality! Our waitress (Michala) was wonderful. She made sure our drinks were full, and our food came out on time. She was knowledgeable about the food and was able to make recommendations. I liked the sweet tea, the BBQ was good, and the best by far was the apple sticks! The apple sticks came out... More

I have been eating at Woodlands for over 25 years. I usually have the the chopped pork which is always good quality slow smoked BBQ. I have also tried their burritos and chicken both are good. I have never had a bad meal at Woodlands. They can get very crowded on the weekends especially when the students are in Boone.... More

Lovely barbeque place in the mountains. You sit at picnic tables, and it kinda feels like a cabin with all the wood decor. Food was excellent, the prices very decent, and the portions were more than enough. The drive there is lovely also, it's quite high up and the views are wonderful on a clear day.

First, the road work is a pain. Yes, there is a wait at times. For those that don't like a lively atmosphere, probably not gonna be a happy camper. With all that said, the food is well worth the few troubles getting to it might be. My friends and I stop in a few times a month. The bbq, chicken,... More

This place was recommended to us by the manager from our hotel in Asheville, NC (so we decided to give it a try) as she was from Blowing Rock. We stopped for late lunch after our drive. The place still had a fairly good crowd (mostly locals). The pork sandwich and sides was good (they also had decent sauces on... More

Woodland's was great for our family of 4; 2 being under the age of 3!! They have nightly music and this entertained both kids. The food was great! So great we came back the second night for more! Wait staff and hostess are friendly and inviting and offer their favorite suggestions if you are stumped! We were looking for a... More

We visited Woodlands for the upteenth time in 30 or so years and it is still a great BBQ joint. The menu consists of different smoked meats: pork, beef ribs, chicken and wings smoked to perfection and served with an array of very good sides and regional desserts such as cobblers of different kinds and banana pudding. The sweet tea... More
