Found a treasure

We stumbled upon Twigs although I've been staying and eating in Blowing Rock for the past five years as my daughter attended ASU. (She went to Grad School, too. Not the five year plan:) We accidently stayed at The Village Inn when we brought her to school this year as we decided to spend the... read more

While enjoying our first visit to Blowing Rock we found this restaurant. Lots of road work and unfamiliar roads we stumbled upon Twigs. Boy are we glad we did. Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. The chef knows what they are doing. The waiter was spectacular. Everything about Twigs was fantastic. Can't wait to go back.

There are two sections to Twigs . . . there is the upscale restaurant with a wonderful selection of entrees (white linen table cloths) and then there's the bar area . . . two totally different atmospheres . . . went recently after a social event and decided on a less formal dinner . . . ordered a burger .... This was a disappointing experience. They had the reservation down for the wrong time. The food was average at best, the prices were not. My pork was overcooked, the meat was very tough and tasted burnt. The salmon was good, but did not justify the high price. Service was good. I would not return.

We came in to have drinks and dinner. Because football was on we opted for the bar. Bartenders were friendly and did a good job making new patrons and regulars feel important. The food was pretty good. Go for the bar filet instead of flank steak on dinner menu. About same portion and more reasonably priced. Good times

We ate at Twigs and were not disappointed. I had the pecan crusted mountain trout and my husband had the shrimp and sausage and grits. Both were delicious and both came with a really nice salad. Very pleasant atmosphere and service.

A lovely dining place with knowledgeable staff and worthy food and wine. It is down in a parking lot next to the ABC store on the roadway that by-passes the tiny, scenic village of Blowing Rock. Don't let the location fool you. You WILL nee reservations.

We had an amazing meal here. I would encourage reservations, we had them and they are usually booked solid.. Everything here is incredible, have eaten here many times and it is consistently good.

Came for the late night to have a couple cocktails. The drinks were good, bartender was friendly. Not too many late night spots in Blowing Rock, this catered to more of our age group. Enjoyed it, will come back again.

I am supposed to tell you what I liked and disliked. Well, let me save us both some time. I loved it all! From the hostess who sweetly worked with us on our table request upon our arrival (Twigs décor always works for me); to the great wine list; to Garrett, our great App State waiter who made sure we...
