Disappointing Food

On the first evening of our stay in Blowing Rock, we decided to eat at Outback since we had a gift card. We were seated and served quickly; the waiter was very attentive. The bread and salads were very good. However, our steaks were dry and rather tasteless. Outback used to be one of our... read more

Went to Outback for lobster as it's difficult to find lobsters in the mountains of North Carolina -- it's such a long crawl from the ocean. The lobsters were barely larger than a jumbo shrimp - really disappointing considering the cost. Another couple with us order the prime rib and was told only well-done was available. All in all, the... More

My husband and father and I planned a weekend camping trip to Boone for the Grandfather Mountain Marathon (highly recommend the marathon & Games). However, after the race, we planned to eat at Outback because I was starved and craving steak. We eat at the Asheville location frequently and were very disappointed with our visit to Outback at Blowing Rock.... More

Attentive server and special menu requests met with a smile and delivered with perfection. We visit the area several times a year and have never been disappointed. Always support small biz but can't avoid The Outback.

Another good meal at Outback. Their menu and food never disappoints. Our server, Liz B was one week out of training and knocked out service out of the park. She provided a wonderful finish to a fantastic visit to Blowing Rock.

This was at one time a good place, not great, but the last 2 times was the last. Food came way overcooked, orders wrong and took forever. They apologized so we tried it again. Exactly the same experience.

The steak was cooked exactly as we liked it. The service was excellent and the wine was very good. It wasn't just a jacket potato but more of a work of art fully loaded with bacon, cheese, sour cream. butter and the garlic mash was scrummy

Food was spot on and really good. Our server was rude and somewhat obnoxious at times. Kept reaching over me and interrupting our conversation at our table so he could ask us to pass him the dirty dishes. Only negative with food was outage of prime rib....on a Saturday night....poor planning. Ending on a great note.......great food.

My wife and I have dined at the Blowing Rock Outback for the the last 12 years. The frequency of our visits was variable so this "meta-review" primarily focuses on the "warm months" in Blowing Rock - i.e., this includes the months of April through November. Initially the Blowing Rock OB (Outback) restaurant was very good, at times was excellent,... More

I love the food. You must get here early or you will be waiting outdoors. Because it is one of the most popular restaurants, it is always crowded. I would call first and ask about wait time.
