Quaint Hideaway

Very popular spot - recommend reservations if you want and outside table for lunch in a pleasant "secret garden" setting. Excellent crepe and fresh fruit salad for lunch. However, my wife's Caesar salad was lacking - bitter in taste and did not really seem like Romaine lettuce.

We loved eating outside at this lovely little cafe, as we do every time we visit Blowing Rock. It is in such a pretty setting and the food is great. I especially recommend the Bananas Foster, which basically turns into a free for all when all of my family is there, as we all dive in to get as much... More

My friend and I were there this morning for brunch. We both had the rosemary ham hash - oh it was so delicious. ham with rosemary, red potatoes, poached egg with hollandaise sauce - ummmm. The wait staff is excellent here. Great service. The coffee was wonderful, too. The day was beautiful - we met some nice people at the... More

Great location. Was very peaceful eating outside. Food was great. Would have eaten here more often if it wasn't so crowded! Folks that came after us needed reservations so you should check on that before going.

Delightful, garden setting. Charming older home with inside and outside dining. Service was impeccable, helpful and attentive. Menu was a variety of dishes, including crepes, soups and salads.

The menu has a nice variety of breakfast and lunch options. Also serves mixed drinks and wine. Reservations are strongly recommended. Locals love this spot. They have an outside seating area and inside seating. Have been there at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. Last visit I had a delicious Turkey and Brie sandwich warmed ....... More

Ducked into this hidden gem just before the rains hit; hostess accommodated us inside at a table near the kitchen "where we could watch her husband cook, and maybe pick up a few tips". It was fun to do so, food was tasty and fresh. Property is an older frame structure with big fireplace and outdoor courtyard. Lots of locals... More

Long a favorite of locals, tourists can find it hard to "drop in". Do make a reservation. You will likely speak with Annie who holds the reins here and runs a tight ship. All the staff are professional and personal at the same time. The menu is just broad enough without being "Greek Diner", breakfast is served all day and... More

Although we give them high marks, service was slow and spotty. We had two versions of eggs Benedict which were tasty. However, the "hash browns" were undercooked. Of the three places we tried, this was best. Coffee is thin and commercial.
