When traveling, my wife and I try to stay away from the "chain restaurants" and franchises. We seek out the "Mom and Pop" one of a kind places. The Black Mountain Bistro is an excellent place to dine. The food was delicious and service was great.

It's a cute little place that felt cozy when we walked in. We ordered a quesadilla, which came out dripping with grease. We also ordered the the veggie flatbread, with a side salad. The flatbread tasted like fish! When we told the waitress, there was no apology although she asked me if I wanted something else. I declined. When the... More

the Bistro is easy to find. the atmosphere is excellent. the wait staff is very attentive. the chef is AWESOME! Fabulous selection in the menu with daily specials. They use as much local as possible. The food bursts with flavor. the cost is affordable! I cannot wait to go back in January.

This is a nice quaint restaurant in Black Mountain, within walking distance of the downtown area. Not a lot of parking beside the building. Menu was varied and our lunch was OK. We had sandwiches and they were freshly prepared. Was very crowded and loud but our waitress did a very good job of meeting our needs.

Visiting Black Mountain and saw this beautiful little place. The staff was very nice and helpful. The appetizers came out quick and was actually very good. Then the entrees came out. All of it was bland. From the steak to the salmon to the pasta. When I say bland, I mean bland. I wish I would have read some of... More

Pleasant surroundings either inside dining or on the patio. The waitstaff is pleasant and efficient, will make suggestions if asked and knowledgeable about the food they serve. Whether a burger, or a full entree, food is presented to please the eyes, and tastes as great as it looks. Roast turkey with all the "fixings" is just one of their regular... More

We drive 50 miles to eat at this restaurant and have never been disappointed. White table cloth but still don't have to dress up to eat at this lovely old house turned into a great place to dine. Good wine selection as well as mixed drinks. Excellent service by Ryan and fantastic food. I try something different every time. Last... More

Food is inconsistent. A pasta special was excellent while ribeye steak was poor. The setting is nice both inside and on the patio with umbrella tables. Even though there were a number of large parties their service was excellent and our food came reasonably quickly. Other people have said that steaks they ordered at other times were also not great... More

We've eaten there twice in a three weeks--once for lunch and once for dinner. Can't say enough about the quality of the food. Everything is fresh and delicious. Portions are generous and the service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is quite nice too. They have an outside patio in addition to indoor seating. Upside: convenient location where you don't... More
