We eat here every time we come to Black Mountain. It never disappoints. We have tried the trout and salmon which were excellent. The salads are fresh. We have tried the rib eye steak and the "black and blue" burger and loved it. Most of all, I love the fried green tomatoes - don't miss them. When it is warm... More

We ate lunch at the bistro and it was fantastic. Even though this was a slower time of day, the food and service were impeccable. I had a burger that was perfect and loaded with a fried green tomatoe and pimento cheese. I've heard it is a great place any time, but I can vouch for lunch. We'll be back.

typically any holiday meal can be a bit of a let down, we were more than pleasantly surprised at the menu selection, quality and portion of meals, and service above par and the price point was very reasonable. Did not feel rushed, appetizers and main entrees brought out in a timely manner - hot and with a very nice presentation.... More

WHY ALL THIS DETAIL? I was that impressed. BOTTOM LINE: great food and great service at very reasonable prices- worth the 5 minute drive off the highway BACKGROUND: On current long trip - PA -> NC -> TN so you can imagine that by the time I got close to Asheville, NC I was sick all of the fast food... We take out-of-town company here because we know the food will always be good. It's flavorful, and there's variety on the menu.

Visited here for lunch on a blustery November day. Our server was fabulous and her service was great. Seven of us had varied meals. Fried green tomatoes were a big hit with every one. NC burger was delicious, as was the cranberry salad. And, oh my gosh, the pumpkin cheesecake and coconut cake were scrumptious!

I've eaten here several times and always enjoy it. Location is good. Food and service great. If the weather is nice, try sitting out in the garden or on the front porch.

Wrote a review in July when we stayed in B.M. and the same goes for our recent visit back in October. All I can add is the food here is really, really good! Fried green tomatoes with the potato cake under them is really good and big enough for 2. You have to try the N.C. Burger YUM! Great beef, fried... More

We stopped by one evening and had a great pork chop dinner with a terrific dessert and a server with all the southern charm you could ask for. The meal was delicious and the service excellent. The price was very fair! When we travel in this area, we would definitely stop here. The outside dining is especially pretty with all... More

This seems to be a pretty popular place but I don't understand why. My mother-in-law ordered the crabcakes and they were obviously bad from the strong ammonia order. Too much good food in the area to risk going back.
