Fantastic place

This is a great place for lunch. I am a local and go there when I can. Try the Hungarian mushroom soup.

From the minute we walked into the cafe which has a display of open art umbrellas on one side of the brick wall, we were welcomed by very friendly servers. The food was delicious especially the home made soups. The sandwiches and salads tasty and fresh and excellent. The desserts were excellent. It was a happy decision to eat there... More

If you are visiting Black Mountain, make sure you eat lunch at The Veranda Cafe. They are only open for lunch, when you will be greeted by Jeff or Palette, the owners, and served down home food with a flair. Fresh home-made soups and salads along with unique sandwiches. Don't miss it.

This restaurant in downtown Black Mountain earns its ranking as number one. The food is excellent, and it's served up in nice surroundings by very pleasant people. The service is efficient and the price is about average for the area. We've been there a couple of times over the last several weeks. Of course, everybody knows about this place, so... More

My sisters and I went to the Veranda Cafe after reading the reviews. We were very pleased with our lunch. The waitstaff is excellent, I love the charming little aprons they all wear. The food is delicious. I had the seafood bisque soup and a dill and tuna sandwich they were both very tasty. My sister had a French dip... More

Veranda's #1 restaurant rating in Black Mountain is very well deserved. I had the turkey sandwich on cranberry and nut bread and it was perfect. As a menu option I had half a sandwich with a cup of Philly Cheesesteak soup. Very good. There are quite a few selections of soup to choose from.

I don't care what time of year, what the weathers, what day of the week, that Veranda is always busy. And with good reason. They feature at least four soups daily as well as other specials. The waitresses are always pleasant, and the kitchen is quick. If you aer lucky, you will be there on a day with Ham Salad Sliders... More

This is just the spot for a nice lunch with friends. The Artichoke and Crab soup was one of the Best I have had in a long time. Sandwiches were excellent. Service is Friendly, Knowledgeable, and makes you feel right at home. Good place and a winning staff.
