What a cute cafe! The food was delicious. I had a half of a chicken salad croissant sandwich and a cup of the tomato feta basil soup. My husband had the ham and cheese sandwich on pretzel bun. For dessert, I had a wonderful autumn spice layer cake. I would recommend this restaurant for my friends. Everything was wonderful, but... More

We stopped in for a light lunch and were very pleased. We all had a soup and I added a half sandwich which was good but not great. The cafe has a nice look and we were fortunate to eat after the lunch time rush. A very good choice while visiting Black Mountain. Would like to go back and try... More

What a wonderful lunch experience. We shared the turkey with cranberry chutney and the turkey brie. We ate slow to savor every bite. Sarah our waitress recommended the autumn spice cake and chocolate raspberry cake. We split them 4 ways to get a taste and we agreed it was an excellent recommendation. Most of all the locals highly recommended this... More

I love the little outdoor patio with a view of the mountains. Try any of the soups, they are all wonderful. The caprese panini was an excellent pairing. All around great lunch spot.

Six of us had lunch here on a Monday in October. We did have to wait about a half hour to be seated, but WOW, was it worth it! Prompt, friendly service, interesting, fun-to-look-at decor, amazing food. The pimiento cheese (actually spelled correctly on the menu, for a change) was great, the chicken salad was great, the Indian summer vegetable... More

Our family of 6 went on Saturday after reviews & speaking to a few locals & the only complaint was deciding which amazing sounding dish to get. Every member of our party enjoyed what they got & although quite busy, the service was outstanding. Looking forward to going back to try a different dish.

We tried the Veranda Cafe for lunch after reading tripadvisor reviews. There were approximately 25 people waiting for tables when we arrived so we added our name and cell phone number to the list and headed over to a local shop. We were pleased when only 15 minutes later we got a call to come back. The table for two... More

We visit Black Mountain once a year and the Veranda is my number one stop! I crave their food - especially the She Crab soup. It is outstanding. I normally get the salad trio with chicken salad, pimiento cheese, and tuna salad. You will not be disappointed if you try any of the three. My husband had the Cuban sandwich... More

My husband and I stopped in Black Mountain for lunch during a recent vacation. We decided to eat at the Verandah Café, we made the right decision. We were given the opportunity to sit at a table outside with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and the pleasant, cool mountain air was perfect. We shared a bowl of the... More
