We really enjoyed the food. They had this side called the Indian summer salad, which is a mixture of corn, green beans, onions and possibly roasted red pepper that's marinated in vinegar which is delicious!the Asian chicken wrap was also good and the combination worked perfectly. My husband got the Bavarian pretzel club which he also loved- so much that... More

Probably the best place to go for lunch in Black Mountain. Great selection and friendly staff and right in the centre of the town.

While visiting North Carolina, our host friends drove us to Black Mountain so that we could eat lunch at the Veranda. Each of the six of us ordered something so fresh and delicious, whether it was a sandwich, soup or salad. It was also a fun atmosphere and very friendly wait staff. The gift shop part in the front was... More

Reasonably priced lunch and good food. Friendly staff. Nice looking cafe inside and nice casual deck in back with view of mountains. I had a turkey sandwich on a pretzel bun with coleslaw. The monks mustard is spicy but very good. Relaxing place and they will call you when your table is ready so you can browse shops while you... More

Best lunch ever. Have to keep myself from eating here everyday I am in the area. We love soup & each day they have several choices. Never had a soup that wasn't delicious. Be prepared to wait in line but no matter how long you wait, it is worth it.

They have a muffaletta that is the real thing, just like in New Orleans. And the Hungarian mushroom soup is to die for. Consistently fresh and good food.

Great place - everyone loved it. I had shrimp and grits - yum! Other options were very creative and excellent. It was busy for lunch on a Friday in the Summer, so call ahead with a big group. Don't miss it.

Every time I'm in the greater Asheville area, I stop the Veranda Cafe for lunch in Black Mountain. Always had good food and great service. I was at the Veranda Cafe last week and had one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. My mother is handicapped and the owner was very helpful and patient with her.... More
