Good food

Good food, had the Trailhead burger. Very nice draft beer list. Service was a bit slow but we came in between lunch and dinner.

We stopped in for drinks and sat at the bar. The bartender was great - very personable. He really enjoyed his job. The Trailhead makes their own bloody mary mix - it was DELICIOUS!! Also, great selection of beers. Friendly atmosphere and great bartender. We did not eat here, but they do have a very good menu with fresh fish... More

We stumbled into the Trailhead after an 8-hr drive. The waitress was cheerful and informative. We enjoyed local beers and basic tavern food. Everything was fine and we went back a second time for live old-time music while we waited for a table at Que Sera nearby.

The Trailhead is a great spot for lunch. We were in town for a short stay and were recommended this place. The beer selection was good, and all of the dishes were fresh and tasty. There was also a nice mix of vegetarian/vegan options.

The Trailhead has a lot of variety in food choices, all very good. And, there is usually a special, that is always top notch. Atmosphere is very laid back, casual, and everyone feels welcome. They regularly have music that is always fun. I eat there on a regular basis, one of the best places in Black Mountain!

My husband and I ducked into The Trailhead on a rainy day and enjoyed sitting at the front window watching the storm. They have a varied menu - I chose to go vegetarian, even though I'm not one, and had the portobello mushroom patty with kale as a side. Very tasty and everything looked and tasted so fresh. My husband... More

I've frequented here many times for drinks and food and have always enjoyed the friendly and prompt service. Tonight my mother and I ate for dinner and had two steaks. Both steaks and corresponding sides tasted very good but came out barely warm. Unfortunately, our server never came back to check on how our food was until we were finished... More

This place didn't draw me in with its looks, but once inside it was completely full and it was clear they didn't need any gimmicks to fill the house. The wait was about 25 mins, but it was worth it. Our table had a portobello sandwich, big ole hamburger with onion rings, and veggie nachos...everyone was pleased, especially by the... More
