We visited the area and came across the Dark City Deli & Pub. We were surprised at how delicious the food was, the best food we had. In fact it was so good that we went a second time while in the area. Jen and Bill were very friendly and the wait staff were very welcoming, they also had very... More

The Dark City Deli is one of those places your friends tell you about while they wave their hands around widely, eyes bulging while demanding that you "Have to go there"! Truly some of the best food we've eaten anywhere (and we travel extensively), great prices, the friendliest staff and owners (Jen and Bill) and a comfortable atmosphere that lends... More

Stopped by the Deli and ordered their Baby Jane Sandwich, which is a fantastic BLT, but much better than anything I have had, even my attempts at home. Lots of bacon, which has been basted with some secret sauce, (as I asked the manager for what made the bacon so great), lots of tomatoes and lettuce. This sandwich, plus the many... More

Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon! We both got the roasted red pepper tomato soup with the cry baby grilled cheese!! It was so good and perfect on this cold weather day! I am picky about tomato soups and this one was amazing I ate it all!! Service and atmosphere were great! I would recommend you stop by... More

Great atmosphere and even better food. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed past their closing time and they never said a word about it. Very friendly.

This place was on par with meals we had in downtown Asheville! Great food and atmosphere. Recommend the roasted tomato soup and the bruiser sandwich!

Dark City Deli has some wonderful veggie options. The Avila black bean burger is really a winner. They serve all their sandwiches with a generous serving of chips and a pickle. It's a full meal.

We ate here twice while in Black Mountain. Both times outside which is wonderful to have during the nice weather - so 5 stars for the patio! The food and service were both very good in this friendly little town. The best part for me was the "dark kitty" (resident house cat) who hangs around the patio just waiting for... More

I've visited Dark City Deli twice on separate visits to Black Mountain and I've been impressed both times. The atmosphere of the place is nice, the service good, and the sandwiches are epic - there's a lot of choice, and they all seem to be huge and delicious. If I end up going to Black Mountain again, I'm sure I'll... More

Great local bar and Resturant. Staff was friends and inviting and the food and value was great. A good time was had by bunch of us that went after a days adventure. I defiantly would say this is a place to go to if you are in Black Mnt for a good low key dinner or drink.
