I have eaten at Dark City Deli numerous times and always have a pleasent experience. The wait staff is alway attentive, the food is always great and the patio is wonderful. My favorite thing to order is the sandwich, The Dude, it's the best! I would recommend Dark City to anyone visiting Black Mountain.

My sister and I drove to Black Mountain to have lunch at the Veranda only to find it closed. There was a couple there waiting for some friends, and they recommended Dark City. The menu looked as if we could find something we might like. When we walked in, we noticed that the sanitation grade was 94.5 which in my... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch sitting outside on a patio under an umbrella in downtown Black Mountain. Having luscious grilled HOMEMADE pimento cheese sandwich with a brew was a great lunch. My husband gave their Reuben a try and it was huge and tasty. The staff was very nice in this casual eatery. Good place to stop while shopping in... More

Let me start off by saying that I love Black Mountain. It's a very charming small mountain town and is the perfect place to spend a lazy summer afternoon. That's why we were so pleased when we walked into Dark City Deli for lunch after reading their menu board posted outside. Once there however we discovered the real truth behind... More

Reading the reviews here, I must have hit this place on a good day... the staff was amazing, friendly and full of great information. I moved to Black Mountain two months ago so I am still finding my way around. This place is my new favorite locale. Not only was the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, the sandwich (Fun Guy-... More

We live in a nearby town and decided to go to Black Mountain for lunch after church. Several of the restaurants that we have had good experience at were closed on Sunday so this place was recommended. We had to sit in the bar because the tables in the main dining area hadn't been cleaned. It was very warm and... More

A small deli but the food and service were very good. We just split a sandwich and a side dish. We both had their iced tea. We ate on the outside patio and enjoyed our lunch. If you find yourself in Black Mountain you should try the Dark City Deli.

While others may have mixed feelings about Dark City Deli, I've always had a great time. They have a number of gluten free options and their outside seating is among the best in Black Mountain. The Bingo Town salad is probably my favorite quick-hit meal in Black Mountain. Awesome every time! --Mike

I wrote a previously positive review of this place, man have things changed. We are not hard to please, seriously. The service was never very good but the yummy sandwiches made up for it...not anymore. The past 2 times we have been there, service was lousy, more so than usual, which we can forgive but the food has been equally... More

You definitely get your money's worth at this hot spot. Have tried nearly everything on the menu (that I could get my mouth around, that is). Very generous portions. These taste delights are works of art in more ways than one. I've been known to take my leftovers and get one or even two more meals. Is the "Sweet Baby... More
