Excellent food, location and patio!

Spent the better part of a day exploring and enjoying Black Mountain. We had an excellent relaxing lunch on the dog-friendly patio at this little gem in an awesome and convenient location in the historic center of town. We visited this restaurant on the Ultimate Foodie Tour by Creative Mountain Food Tours of Black Mountain, NC. They gave us a sampling of the kale salad and turkey Panini. They paired it with "NC Apple" flavored cider (alcoholic beverage). I am not a drinker, but this was delicious. I was hesitant to try the kale, but it is delicious... More

We ate at this wonderful deli in July. We were seated outside with a party of 5 and a dog. This is a dog friendly place with an amazing menu. I had the burger with gorgazola cheese which was fantastic. Everyone else enjoyed their food and the portions were generous. The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable.

The Dark City Deli has improved steadily since it opened. The sandwiches are quite good, and there is a varied menu. I'd give it a try.

I had lunch there on Saturday and I would rate this as a five star deli. The best food I have had in a while Fantastic, must eat there.

We have been in the Dark City Deli 4 times and each time ordered their sandwiches. This time I had the New York pastrami sandwich and my wife had a chicken breast panini. Both came with a pickle slice and chips. The pastrami sandwich is almost as good as one can get in New York. Sandwich prices generally range in... More

....makes being a vegetarian sooooo worth it. We had the pleasure of tasting this bean burger while on the food tour. Delicious!! They served a ginger beer (I believe!) which was so refreshing. We highly recommend this place.

A good gourmet deli with a variety of sandwiches and salads. It is a mix of rooms for inside seating but the outside patio is very comfortable with shade trees. Wait staff was good. A good comfy deli for lunch or dinner.

This doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let the unassuming looks fool you. I promise that when you leave, you will be stuffed with some awesome tasting food. On my visit I had the bruiser and my wife had one of their daily special sandwiches. The service was average and won't blow you away, but it sufficed.... More

Great location. The food was average, great service. Very loud inside, however the outside seating was good...nice and relaxing.
