We stopped here after yoga at the Black Mountain Yoga. It's a cute pub with some good food and a local feel. Really loved the fried green tomatoes!

So I won't rate the beer or service-- beer was great, service was distracted...because it was open mic night and the talent was phenomenal. You have to go to listen. I was imagining where I was going to see these people later on--on what famous stage, in what grand hall, in why Nashville venue! Great great talent! Simple decor, understated... More

We ate here on 2 occasions and were very happy with service and food. Wait staff were helpful and friendly. Food very tasty and offers an upscale bar menu. Eat on the patio if you have the opportunity.

Our party of 6 ranged from age 6 to 71 and the fast delivery of our first round of wine and local mama's yella pils (for the 40-something's!) set the tone for a very enjoyable & relaxed evening. The kids devoured the Irish (potato) nachos & fried pickles & the burgers (esp w bacon/pimento) & shrimp/corn salad were perfect. Even... More

When we first got into Black Mountain we walked to the ale house for dinner. The place was nice and the beer was good. The menu could be expanded a little bit and was a little pricey.

We had dinner at Black Mountain Ale House and discovered it is the best kept secret in Black Mountain. The food was delicious - great menu selection - not your regular ale house items - wonderful entrees, sandwiches, appetizers - I could have made a meal from appetizer selections and the best warm homemade apple/blue berry cobbler with homemade whipped... This is a very casual place, and there's seating outside as well. I ordered the chili which was excellent. And a Pisgah beer of course! My husband ordered the tacos but I can't remember what was in them. Just that he liked them, and he's a picky eater. We didn't get them, but the onion rings looked awesome! The menu... More

Lots of attention by waitresses, the steak was awesome, good local beer too. The site is in the middle of Black Mountain.

My family and I ( a group of 11) came to the Ale for dinner and a great experience. We ordered their fried pickles, cheese sticks, and array of burgers, the fried green tomato blt, and the pork. My only complaint was with the pork. My nephew had to send it back twice due to it being raw. I realize... More
