always a fun time

Black Mountain has several good, casual restaurants and we come here often. The staff is always cheerful and friendly. Great selection of craft beers on tap. Menu is standard pub fare, but try the eggplant fries with marinara sauce. Good!

My husband and I live just down the mountain from Black Mountain in Old Fort. We visit The Black Mountain Ale House at least once a week. We enjoy everything about this place. The service is always on point, the atmosphere is very relaxing and you can always catch a game on one of the many televisions. The Ale House... More

My wife and I were walking down Black Mountain, North Carolina's Cherry Street (she was actually ducking into all the neat little shops along Cherry while I "killed time" with my camera outside) when we noticed the sign advertising Black Mountain Ale House, with an arrow pointing to a doorway leading to a long flight of stairs into what looked... My friends and I stopped in for refreshments and my two friends said their choice of beers were excellent! They loved the local brews And the bartender was outstanding! She helped my two friends with great choices to meet their tastes in the local brews! I loved the place. Friendly and fun!

Although My husband and I are not beer drinkers, we decided to try out their burgers. We had friendly waitress and the atmosphere was inviting. The food was good, not great. Prices were very reasonable.

This is a great comfortable place, with outside seating, where there is a large selection of beers on tap, including many locals and national brews. The food is more than just the bar types food, and include great meals for a reasonable price. The hamburgers, fish and chips are great for lunch. The staff are very friendly and helpful in... More

We were in Black Mountain shopping at Tysons when we walked out the door and could smell burgers cooking and literally followed the smell until we found the Ale House. We sat at the bar and were fortunate to have Nicki as our bartender/server. She was very friendly and provided great service. The eggplant fries were really good, even my... More

the beer selection was excellent & ice cold plus the food was exceptionally good. We only expected "bar food", burgers, wings, etc. so we were surprised at the salmon and the daily specials that were offered. Server was friendly & attentive even though the place was packed. Fun place to gather with friends!

We stopped for lunch waiting for a local brewery to open up. Had a couple beers, they had a decent selection of to choose from. Staff was friendly, prompt service. It was a little chilly but we were in the basement I think there was an upstairs too. Food was good, not mind blowing but no complaints. I'd stop back... More

Wonderful atmosphere for New Year's Day ... try the bacon jam and fig appetizer and definitely ask about the soup of the day ... and did we mention the special mac-n-cheese? The staff are some of the best at pitching in. You always knew who was your main wait staff, but everyone was good to watch your table for any... More
