On a beautiful spring afternoon we stopped at the Black Mountain Ale House for lunch and ate on the patio, al fresco. My wife said that it was the best Blue Cheese Wedge Salad she had ever eaten. The salad was generous with bacon (and nothing is bad with bacon on it) and blue cheese. The house made dressing was... More

Spied this a few doors down when the destination we were going to was closed. Walking down the stairs, we were welcomed by lovely live music. Sunday brunch was being served as well as the regular lunch offerings. Choices were interesting and varied, and the sandwiches arrived in a timely fashion. The food was quite tasty and the service, while... More

Reserved their seating area for a party for my husband. We had about 20 people. They set up a table of hor d'oeuvres that was really yummy. Accommodated everything we needed and the help Bianca gave made it easy on me. The big screen tv allowed the guys not to miss the football game. Everyone commented on how great the... More

We live in Asheville, and regularly hit black mountain for outdoor persuits. The ale house consistently delivers excellent beer, pub grub, and local atmosphere. It's perfect for quality food, watching the game, and great local beer. What else is there on a Sunday afternoon?

Went to the ALE HOUSE in Black Mountain for dinner Saturday before heading home for the evening. Neat place in the basement. Service was great and the food...well that depends on your taste buds. The fried pickles are great but you definitely need more than 2 people...actually 4-6 would be better. The speical that night was salmon burgers and it... More

We stopped in for burgers after going to the Pisgah Brewery. The burgers and fries were decent, but not what you'd expect from a pub. Beer selection was good. There were only two servers (and one of them was also working the bar), but they did a great job keeping tabs on us. If the quality & taste of the... More

Interesting pub - burgers were really good and the beer selection was good. Has a nice atmosphere - very "local" feeling. Great spot to stop at to relax and grab a bite.

Food was great and tasty. Service was adequate for a pub. Just a bit pricey for what we got but would stop again. They did have 15 local micro brews in tap.

We stumbled across the Black Mountain Ale House last week on a trip through the Asheville, NC area. It was one of our more enjoyable meals of the trip. The atmosphere was very nice, the food was well above average and the entertainment was very relaxing and enjoyable. What really stood out was the best service of our entire trip.... More
