Grits aficionados will know what I mean. Grits you can eat with a fork! Thick and creamy, seasoned well. Like eating a Gramma's house. Sit on the porch and enjoy the mountain view. Sausage from local butcher. Food fresh and prepared well. Delivered with a friendly smile and helpful service.

My husband and I enjoyed breakfast so much we went back the next morning! We enjoyed both meals outside on the porch...coffee was great...burrito was filling and yummy...and the grit cakes...OMG...the best thing I've ever had!! FYI...walk in and place your order, fill your coffee cup, grab a mason jar for some water and head to the table of your... More

This restaurant is a few blocks off the main drag, which was nice! Even though the restaurant was full, it didn't feel crowded. Super casual, low key vibe, with really great food. We had lunch, sandwiches and a salad. Really tasty, friendly, east going staff. A gem!

Breakfast was excellent, service and staff friendliness was tops. We ate on the wrap around porch and it was delightful! The only complaint would be that it was crowded due to obvious popularity. Best to go at an off peak time of day. Breakfast served all day.

Returned to Louise's Kitchen after having a great breakfast here about a year ago. Lunch was a really tasty, well seasoned curried chicken salad on a bed of mixed greens. My friend decided to have breakfast food for lunch and truly enjoyed her pancakes with a vanilla syrup and some sliced strawberries. Louise's Kitchen is fun, very clean with a... More

This is an inconspicuous little place off the main drag of Black Mountain. Open only for breakfast (served all day), lunch and Sunday brunch, Louise's has a lovely wraparound porch perfect for those late summer and early fall days. There is also indoor seating. For Sunday brunch, we had two tasty dishes -- a "veggie delight," with egg, spinach, tomato,... More

Louise's is in an old house that you order and then they bring the food to you. I had the black bean grit cakes and they were just wonderful. Wish I lived closer.

Ordering at the counter speeds up ordering while delivery by a waitress to your table provides a service experience. Food is very good although not gourmet. Just a pleasant casual eating experience.Their large wraparound porch is the perfect setting for a lovely, leisurely breakfast with cool mountain breezes. The porch is decorated with a mix of old chairs and tables... More

It's an oldish house made over into a restaurant. Seating on the porch seems to go first in nice weather. Indoors there are several rooms, and a small cadre of cooks working in what looks like an impossibly small kitchen. The food was worth the moderate wait. The Black and Blue Salad was a delight with fresh greens and vegetables... More
