Been here over 5 times. Great location. Come with low expectations and service. Food is mediocre at best.

We were greeted by a friendly server who was charming. The food was delicious---great sweet potato fries. There was no issue splitting sandwich. The live music was local and enjoyable. The vistas were beautiful.

We went as a group of ten, having made reservations earlier in the day. This is a small establishment, far from the beaten path, so we erred on the side of caution. We lucked out. The food was really, really good. Our server could not have been nicer. It was a very good value. And, the live entertainment was great.... More

This is a great little restaurant nestled in the mountains of North Carolina. It is run by a family who serve great food, good beer in an environment that allows good conversation and often great music. Worth a drive in the country to visit this place. The service was extraordinary on this visit.

We stopped in for dinner at the Straightaway Cafe. Good sandwiches. Great drink prices. Live music was great. They had an outdoor firepit going on a chilly spring evening. This is the happening place to see the locals and get the feel for the area. Everyone was friendly and inviting and we will come back again!

I have been here many times and am always satisfied. This particular time I had the chicken melt with potato salad. The chicken melt is delicious and probably my favorite item they offer. Potato salad was delicious. I also ordered up an order of chips with spinach and artichoke dip. It has a little spicy kick to it that I... More

We have eaten here a couple of times. Not fancy, but enjoyable. Food was tasty and served in a very relaxed easy going atmosphere. We will definately eat here again.

I use to love this place. We've been going off and on for the past several years. It's quaint, unusual, and they always have good entertainment. The food, however? It is rather inconsistent and frankly, the charm has worn off for me. It simply cannot compensate for lack-luster taste. We took my mother to Straightaway last Sunday night. The only... More

Great MushroomBurger and Sweet Potato Fries and Fried Muzhrooms! And the live music by Hobos and Lace made for a near perfect evening
