See the Public Television spot on this great pub on Hwy 9

Fun atmosphere, friendly service, good food and beer, and interesting patrons! We watched college football while it rained, but seemed like a great place to hear live music and meet friends. Family friendly which is a plus.

We have loved this place ever since it first opened. The menu is small, but everything on it is prepared with a lot of love and attention to detail. Nice family owned business. The owner, Ray, always goes out of his way to come to our table whenever we're there and when he knows "The Irishman" is in the house,... More

As a local I've been here several times and want to like it but I've thrown in the towel. The atmosphere is laid back but all the way to the point where they're either understaffed or the wait staff doesn't care- either way I've felt abandoned several times at my table. Another thing is that dogs are allowed into the... More

It's pleasant to be outside on the deck, whether closer in deck or extended deck. The servers are attentive and comfortably dressed in hippie like garb. There is a roughly hewn separate covered platform for the bands which play on the weekend and on Wednesday nights. The music was good the Saturday we were there. I enjoyed my trout served... More

Live music and an adult beverage on the large deck under an umbrella- ahhh. Everyone enjoyed their food.

A spectacular setting, rustic charm, a great local beer menu, and live music sadly spoilt by abysmal service and below par food. Willing to give it another go on the belief that it was a one-off...

This little place is tucked away off of Route 9. We visited for lunch and found it to be a nice place. The sweet potato fries are great! :) They have music on some nights.

After enjoying the twisties along highway 9 or chilling around chimney rock, this is a great place to grab some grub hear some good music and enjoy relaxing. After a nice meal and music me and the wife sat out by their fire pit and enjoyed the atmosphere. Good menu, the plates are full and the price fair. We will... More

We went out to the Straightaway Cafe tonight after seeing a review on PBS. It is out in the middle of nowhere but the drive and the entrance up a dirt/gravel leads to a really cool venue for food ,music and beer. We had spinach dip, pimento cheese sandwich and a ribeye. All of it was great , reasonable and... More

Good food, good service, good music. We always go here after a long day in the mountains. A ray of sunshine in a remote place.
