Ranked #2 of 37 restaurants in Beaufort
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Price range: $9 - $29
Cuisines: American, Asian, Pasta
Dining options: Lunch, Reservations
Description: City Kitchen is a Waterfront Restaurant with approachable American Cuisine that is kicked up a notch. Just like our great country, the chef draws from our diverse ethnic mix, with Southern, Asian, Hispanic and other influences. City Kitchen's cuisine is imaginative yet familiar. We are an unpretentious restaurant, with an inviting decor and awesome food! (Our desserts are pretty darn tasty too!) We also have a Waterfront-open air bar that is open in Season for Lunch and light bar food in the evenings. Call for hours as this is weather dependent.

Amazing views, relaxed atmosphere, and wonderful cuisine. Staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Would encourage you to make a reservation - although the two of us were able to get a table with minimal wait.

Awesome views and great food. Staff was friendly and on top of every detail. The outside porch and incredible breeze and sunset made it a perfect dinner spot. Must go!

This restaurant was a grand surprise; a little off the beaten track above the Yacht Club, surrounded on three sides by a stellar view of the water and boats, I didn't know it existed. The food was really good--the shrimp and grits was not served as expected (shrimp grilled on skewers crossed atop a grit cake), but was very good.... More

Had a great meal at City Kitchen. We were able to sit on the deck even though we hadn't requested it in our reservation. Everyone was very welcoming. Heather provided superb service. Our party of four enjoyed the housemade potato chips with aioli, baked oysters, shrimp and grits, rib eye and chicken over jasmine rice. All were wonderful. Couldn't decide... More

So proud to take my guests to a restaurant that could stand on its own with five stars and no view but you add the incredible Marina location and City Kitchen is off the charts. The food is excellent with a unique and creative array of choices and great local seafood. It is a pricey restaurant and worth every penny.

If we had to do it over again, we might have dined inside instead of outside, simply because it was rather windy. We were actually advised to not order a salad because of the stiff breeze. It was a little overpriced, but the food and service were great! My wife enjoyed the herb-roasted chicken, and I ordered the incredible thai... More

City Kitchen is a secret treasure in Beaufort, North Carolina! The pimento cheese on crostini was delicious. The roasted chicken with a curry sauce over jasmine rice with fresh vegetables on the side was absolutely divine. The homemade desserts were heavenly and the atmosphere was so pretty The staff were welcoming and attentive. A wonderful place!

We followed City Kitchen to their new beautiful waterfront location and were not disappointed! What a great night. The portions are generous and the service is friendly and attentive. Such a great dining experience. Save room for the decadent desserts, too! If you have only one nice dinner out while in the area, make it City Kitchen. The only reason... More

Located on the Newport River (not in the center of Beaufort), it is worth finding your way to this gem at the Town Creek Marina. Thai meatballs were a great introduction and the blackened grouper special was cooked to perfection. The Duck bolognese is true bolognese-style, just a touch of tomato. Excellent service (almost too attentive), great sunset! They just... More

We had dinner tonight at City Kitchen, which moved over the bridge from Morehead City to the more upscale environs of Beaufort in June. We arrived early, so we had a couple of beers at the little tiki bar on the ground level, and then when the restaurant opened at 5:30 moved upstairs to the second-level verandah with a wonderful...
