Great Local Food

Stopped by the Grandview Restaurant on a cold rainy Saturday in November and had an awesome grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of chili. Exactly what we needed to warm us up. If you like Mom & Pop local food this is the place for you in Banner Elk. We'll be back!

After waiting 37 minutes for our breakfast, the food came out nasty and greasy; bagel sandwich clearly heated up in a microwave! Never coming back, this place lacked service and their food is disgusting!

I've been eating at the Grandview ever since they first opened! Greg & Debbie have always served good tasting basic foods at a great value. Nothing fancy just good food and friendly service. The best thing my wife and I like is the serve Breakfast all day! It's a great place for breakfast or lunch and that's why they are... More

We ate breakfast twice here while in Boone. The food was very good, the staff was very friendly and the wait was not long. The biscuits were homemade and was fabulous. We were very pleased and would reccmmend this small resturant to anyone in the area.

I have attempted this place several times. Both times not too much interest in us at the door and something else came up. This time followed through and sat for a late breakfast, The food was pretty good .Great potato cakes and above average pancakes) The glasses for drinks were crazy small and refills difficult. Do not recommend unless you... More

The food was just okay here. As we walked in the door, I suppose I expected a better reception than we got from the waitstaff. I don't need them to throw confetti or anything, but a smile wouldn't hurt. I also thought $2.25 for a small side of fries was a bit steep. For that price, I would think people... More

My fiance and I were in town for a wedding the night before, and Grandview was highly recommended by local guests. Upon entering the restaurant we waited for a good 10 minutes at the host station/register, and not one single staff member acknowledged that we were even there. I finally managed to get the attention of the hostess to ask... More

We visited here for breakfast, and let me tell you this place was *hopping*! It's been around for decades, and what it doesn't show in fancy decor, it makes up for in extra-tasty food at a fantastic price. The service was nice as well, especially considering how crazy busy it was during our visit. That would be my only complaint... More

My husband kids and I were never spoken to upon entry. Finally someone told us we needed to write our name on a list and go outside to wait. Once the waitress arrived she rolled her eyes as of we were bothering her. She seemed more concerned about going out and smoking cigs than taking care of customers. Pancakes, eggs,... More
