Food preparation at Sorrento's Bistro can inconsistent, so it's difficult to predict your dining experience. We've had a few meals here that were excellent, and others that were extremely disappointing. Our last dining experience was extremely disappointing with tough pasta, overcooked seafood, undercooked vegetables, and bad service. The interiors are nice and the staff is friendly. I wish the food... More

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary and overall we had a very satisfying meal. Especially delicious were the sauces that flavored our selections. We started with the Artichoke Francese appetizer which was flavored to perfection. I had the salmon special, again flavored with an outstanding shitake mushroom cream sauce, and my wife chose the spinach lasagna, equally... More

Had an agreeable time here. Was impressed with the wine selection relative to the assumed tastes of the dull staff. If you want some sort of authentic experience, why would you eat Italian food in the High Country? Go to Bayou Smokehouse next door.

We ended up at Sorrento's when our first choice (The Frog and The Monkey, now closed) turned out to be closed on Mondays. This was my second choice based on TripAdvisor reviews. Our server was was friendly and helpful. We had a vegetarian in our group and she gave some good guidance in that area. We started with fried calamari,... More

We had a party of five for Mother's Day and sat outside on the patio. We had our three giant Shiloh Shepherds with us. We were immediately greeted by several on the staff and made us feel very welcome. We ate off of the Brunch Menu. The food was excellent, the servers were terrific and on top of things the... More

We had good enough weather to sit out on their patio sipping Banner Elk Red, their Crab Cakes are to die for. Had it one day for a first course and next day for the main course. Everything else was delicious as well.

Sorrento's is a Banner Elk favorite. With walls bedecked with art from the studio next door, Sorrento's offers a good selection of Italian dishes. The shrimp fra Diavolo is our favorite - a large portion of pasta with large shrimp in a very spicy red sauce. Everything we've tried has been great. You'll have a hard time not filling up... More

Very tasty and thoughtfully prepared dishes, from the appetizers thru the entrees. The bruschetta was amazing, and the Alfredo sauce was the richest, creamiest I've ever tasted. Be forewarned that you will get plenty of food as portions are hearty.

we stopped in for dinner; they have a great menu but my husband and I were just wanting pizza. The house salads were very good and pizza was as well. A little pricey I thought ($7) for a house salad. Nice place for a special occasion
