We've been coming to the mtns for five years and tonight was the first time we went to the Banner Elk Cafe. What a wonderful experience. They have several sections, one in the Cafe, one in the Lodge, and then a covered outside area between the two. I had called earlier in the day to alert them that there would... More

Ordered omelette, not made with real eggs, hash browns tasted like the were fried in week old oil. Carpet is old and dirty as are the rest of the furnishings. Ate 2 bites and left the rest.

We had a large party for dinner. The server was very nice but our meals came out at different times and some took forever. The food was good but all in all it took over an hour and half for everyone's meals to arrive.

We have been in the area for 4 months now and have found the food to be consistently good. If we stop by for breakfast, dinner or just a light lunch, we have yet to be disappointed. There are 2 sections to the restaurant, The Cafe and The Lodge( with outdoor seating) .But no matter where you sit,you can order from... We ate here while staying overnight to visit Grandfather Mountain. The food was good. Husband had the trout, quite nice. I had the chicken with crab meat, also nice. But there was nothing really so special about this place. However , in a town this size, I suppose it was beter than most. Staff was courteous and attentive. Extensive menu... More

We have been to the Banner Elk Cafe three times this month already all three experiences were great. Two lunches and one breakfast. The chili and grilled cheese were very good. The turkey and dressing special was home cooked. The breakfast was excellent. And, great friendly service each meal.

We were in Banner Elk for College orientation for our daughter. My husband and I dropped by to eat lunch. We waited for a while to be seated. Finally, we were able to get a seat and the waitress took our order. I ordered soup, salad and a water. My husband ordered the chicken casserole. Both of our meals were... More

I was very glad to see such an open and eclectic menu, even a nice array of desserts from a local bakery. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, which is so nice, as it is very full. We had a great server that was so polite, and very patient walking us through the menu. There is a... More

We tried this place our last full morning in the area. We were quickly seated with an option for inside or outside and a waitress was ready to take our order just a minute or two later. The breakfast menu is simple, but there is not much you can do with breakfast. Sitting in the back room we had some... More

My husband and 3 teens and I ate here last week. We had been disappointed up until then with most of the other places we had eaten at in the area. We were given menus for both the Lodge and the Cafe with so much to choose from. We all enjoyed our meals (chick parm sandwich, baked penne, melted ham... More
