Friendly, comfortable, delicious dining experience

Having read previous reviews, we were very disappointed. Service was very attentive, however, the dinner left much to be desired. The escargot puff pastry appetizer would have been better if some of the butter had hit the escargot instead of sitting at the bottom of the pastry. Salads arrived with just the slightest hint of a dressing. We ordered the... More

Had dinner here with 4 other ladies on a recent Saturday night. The restaurant was under staffed for as many customers as there were but our server worked hard to take care of us remaining friendly and warm the whole time. Hats off to the raspberry martini he made me! Our entrees were very good as well as the chocolate... More

We weren't sure what to expect looking at the restaurant from the parking lot--it looked rather ordinary and unassuming. However, inside there is nothing unassuming about the place. The view was incredible, even though we were there off-season on a gray day, and the trees were no longer covered in snow nor were their pretty spring leaves and flowers out... More

Just down the road from Beech Mountain and up the mountain from Banner Elk at about 5,000 feet, the natural setting and view across the valley out the dining room windows and on the balcony are striking at sunset. The dining room is spacious and rustic. Very good service. I ordered the pan seared encrusted trout, which was two large... More

This is probably the nicest place in the Beech Mountain area. There are other restaurants with good food but they lack the refinement of this restaurant. Our group enjoyed all our meals. The fish special was incredible. The view of the mountain was beautiful while we ate.

Trout with creamed corn and mashed potatoes was amazing! Husband had short ribs with the same sides. Said his was great, but my meal was the best! Chardonnay selection is lacking. More than likely you will have to get reservations. Service was fun...knowledgeable college student dishing on the fraternity parties that weekend. Overall, laid back atomsphere, excellent food, attentive service.... More

My wife picked the Jackalope View and when I pulled up the pictures I was expecting a ski bar, but to my surprise it was upscale food with an amazing view. If you want to match the food be sure to be there at sunset to enjoy the view. I got the Steak (they call it Beef something) with Kale... More

Their breakfast is all we've had here and it is excellent! Nice service, but not excellent service. I guess it's according to which server you get. But has a beautiful view located on the edge or cliff of the mountain. You can see Sugar mountain from view. Really nice Inn also. We stayed here couple of times. They could use... More

The shrimp and grits were amazing. The service was great. The food took a little time to get out, but nothing too crazy. The view alone was worth the trip.
