The view can't be beat

My wife and I have been here twice and have enjoyed our meals both times. If you enjoy seafood, be sure to get the lump crab cake for an appetizer or dinner. It was pure bliss. I ordered elk the first time and loved it. That's not a regular menu item, but they sometimes have seasonal exotic... read more

We sat on the back deck & the view was beautiful. However, the rest of the experience was lacking. Most importantly the service was mediocre for the price of the meal. Cats and dogs wandered around the deck area constantly coming close to all guests and at one point jumped in chair to try a guests salad. Meal wasn't as... More

To start, the view is one of the best restaurant views you will find in the High Country. Driving up to the place I wasn't sure we were in the right place since it is a bit dated looking on the outside with a dirt parking lot. The good - I had the scallops and they were excellent, my wife... More

We've eaten here every summer/winter for the past 15 years, and tonight's meal was really the best we've ever had at Jackalope's. Apparently they have a new chef, and all of our courses were fantastic. The spinach artichoke dip was the perfect ratio of veggies to cream/cheese (not too creamy) and the escargot was served out of the shell in... More

Six of us had dinner there tonight. Two ordered their short ribs which were tough and dry. One ordered the pork chop which was tough. The crispy duck was not crispy and almost raw. The two salmon orders were so so. Food was definitely overpriced. Waiter never asked about dessert and emphasized about tipping several times.

My husband and I chose this restaurant for the spectacular view of Beech Mountain. The atmosphere was super, price paid for meal was acceptable, and the food was good. We ordered the short ribs and salmon.

This was an amazing experience! My wife and I didn't want to leave. The view was great and the food/services was fabulous. We ate and enjoyed the upstairs bar area. Definitely recommend this as a must for anyone visiting the area even if you just stop in and take in the view.

View is beautiful, restaurant is clean but food is completely tasteless. Service is slow and we will not go back. Prices too high for food served.......food is of good fresh quality, but plated food not served in a pleasing arrangement and food had no flavor whatsoever.

The food was still pretty good, but the waitstaff is training. Not sure how you can run out of green beans in the summer in NC. Someone needs to teach the cook how to remove the woody ends of asparagus. The salmon, shrimp and grits & chicken alfredo were good, but pricey for the experience you get now.

We were here for a family dinner and were disappointed. Our food took forever to get to us, and many were disappointed with the meals. I had the Shrimp and Grits and the shrimp were small and appeared to be frozen (may not have been, but were very average at best). The grits and sauce were very good, but with... More
