Great chef and very good for lunches. House made soups are always very good. Daily specials on the menu.

I am a local here in Banner Elk, and this is my go to restaurant! Food is amazing! Want something a little different? No problem! Want homemade comfort food? No problem! Salads are to die for, and I am a salad snob!

Really did not know what to expect, this is a great little place everyone was very friendly and the food was great. I had the fried trout sandwich the fish was very fresh and good. The server recommended the chili and I am glad she did it was fantastic.

The food was amazing, but service was a little slow. I had ahi tuna and it was cooked perfectly. The bread pudding was also yummy! Others in my party had the trout and another had the pork chop.

I had the shrimp carbonara sans pork belly it was outstanding. Kiddo got salmon which she loved as well. Service from Thomas was right on should be number one in Banner Elk.

The great fried chicken might only be in the summer but it is worth the wait. We understand that it sells out fast so make a reservation to be sure you get to have some. Also, since I am writing about last summer be sure to call and be sure they have not changed the day. We also have had... More

Dined here for brunch on a Sunday and it was a mixed bag. Décor/ambiance nondescript. No one at hostess stand for awhile. Had reservations for Sunday brunch...seated...great waitress Briesa. I had a High Country benedict that was average tasting, nothing special, girlfriend had a wonderful sunchoke parmesan local soup that was absolutely delicious. She also had the painted fish salad... Excellent service ... although if you make a reservation, ask for a booth just for better seating. We had local NC trout that was cooked perfectly (not dry, not salty, and spiced just right). I had the collards which had a dash too much vinegar but since I'm not a local, what do I know? Also enjoyed sticky bun bread... More

We were amazed with their fried oyster appetizer, the best I've ever had. Tried their special that night "Hawaiian Walu" which was outstanding. My husband got the Cavatelli shrimp casserole which was loaded with shrimp and loved the cream sauce. They totally have a creative chef who knows how to prepare and present his delicious inspirations.
