The food was great, the service wonderful, and the view peaceful and relaxing. The fish was fresh and tasteful. The hamburger flavorful and cook just the way we ordered it.

With 5-8 dishes per section of the menu, emphasis was on the quality, taste and presentation of the food. Salmon was perfectly cooked and nicely complemented with the seasonal vegetables. Service was good and waitress was knowledgeable about the good and local produce. Nice relaxing atmosphere with amazing views of the mountains and river out of the window. Would highly... More

We recently stopped here for dinner. The views from the restaurant are very nice since it is right next to a small river with rapids. The trout is quite good. A good thing to know is that if anyone in you party orders some kind off steak ask the waitress to remind the cook that your trout order should be... More

My wife and I stopped at The Hungry Trout Restaurant this past July. We were detoured several times because of the Marathon Race through Lake Placid. We were very pleased with restaurant from the time we entered the front door. The staff led us through the main dining room to the outdoor patio. It was a great evening with a... More

We stopped for an early supper and were surprised at what a nice location for a meal near a river. The hamburgers were great. It wasn't real busy because we were there on the early side but the service was great. One of our group had seafood and she said it was really good.

The patio next to the rushing river is pretty hard to beat as far as setting goes. The metal chairs were not the most comfortable though. Food was good (I had shrimp and chicken rustica with penne, my friend had a burger and we both started with a fresh salad). Service was friendly and efficient. Pricing was reasonable.

Down stairs is the place to be. Get both menus in a casual experience. Fish and chips. Burgers etc are quote good. Location and view is nice as well.

We have been visiting the area for several years, and generally make this restaurant one of our stops for dinner. This year our experience was particularly enjoyable. We were served generous and delicious cocktails to start. Our appetizers were mostly good, with the salad being a best choice . Mushroom ravioli could be delicious if not fried. The trout is... More

Even though we did not have reservations, we were treated graciously. The staff was concerned about the air conditioner blowing on me and adjusted it and the sun was setting and they wanted to adjust the shades. The menu had several things I wanted to try. We settled on two appetizers, smoked trout and wild mushroom ravioli. Then the service... More

I am not certain on my overall rating as it was suppose to be a great supper on our last night in Lake Placid it did not turn out well. There was a large group in the same area where we were sitting and for 1 1/2 hrs the toddler screamed even the waitress wished they would take her outside.... More
