By six o’clock on this, the tenth day of our trip, it had quit raining so we headed out a little after 6:00 for some dinner. I had picked a place recommended by RoadFood.com. It was nearly nine miles from our hotel but it was worth it - Charlie the Butcher’s Kitchen which serves up Buffalo’s other signature dish -... More

We (from northern Illinois) were able to return after 2 years. You go there for the Beef on Weck. The staff is ok, but not really friendly - seemed more interested in what they were going to do that night. Really they're there to serve neighbors and "regulars". BUT, if you want one of the best roast beef sandwiches that... More

On the corner of Cayuga & Wehrle this small diner serves beef on weck sandwiches, corn on the cob, onion rings and a number of other sandwiches. Order when you walk in, then find a seat indoors or outdoors. A much better option than fast food, at the same price. Service is quick and friendly.

This place is like stepping back in time inside. This is truly a Buffalo must. The kimelwich rolls are great. They are always friendly and serve a great product.

My wife and I love the Beef on Weck! We were on our way home from Detroit with our son and my wife's parents. They loved the Beef on Weck. My father in law said it was the best sandwich he's ever had! We also ordered the cucumber salad which is really good too! Last but not least was the... More

I actually feel badly for writing this review because I had really high hopes. This was my first chance to try the beef on weck, and I was completely underwhelmed. While the beef was tender, it was very bland. My 'weck roll had little salt and no caraway seeds on it. The sandwich was cold as it had been sitting... More

We live in Rochester, but sometimes use the Buffalo airport. We always stop to eat when there. This is our new permanent eating spot. The roast beef is perfectly done and very delicious.

Traveling through NY and decided to check out beef on a weck since we had never heard of it! Rare, very tender roast beef on a bun was very good! We also tried the sweet potato fries and waffle fries with the gravy on the side...both very good but I could pass on the gravy! Would definitely check this place... More

Can't do better than Charlies for the price and taste of a beef on weck sandwich. This is an automatic lunch or dinner stop when we visit Buffalo.

We stopped in to try out a local legend. As we sat waiting for our meal we observed a constant flow of locals coming in for takeout food, line was out the door. The staff kept the line moving, and still served us our food in a very timely manner. The beef on weck was excellent! The menu was simple,... More
