Average Food - Awful Artwork

The owner loved his dog. The restaurant is willed with amateur oil paintings of dogs that make me feel I am eating in a senior citizen's home. They are truly off-putting. Although the food is average and fairly priced, the picture make me lose my appetite. A good place for young children so they... read more

This is a great family restaurant with good bar food and some interesting burger choices. The Mac and cheese burger was excellent! Very popular place on a Friday evening. Our waiter was very personable and efficient.

Emma's delightful, as always. Friendly neighborhood pub with good food to complement its extensive drink offering. If you can't decide which brew to order, order a flight of four small glasses of different brews. Fish and chips always my choice, but many others really good as well. Emma's is always a friendly treat.

We popped in for a quick Sunday late lunch and liked the look-and-feel of the place. A very nice front bar area with dining tables, and a very nice side room filled with children. People, by all means go out, but how about teaching the children some table manners and public area manners before leaving the house? Good heavens. By... More

Loved the convivial & genial atmosphere, a busy bar area on a Sunday night with the locals watching a football game. Dog art everywhere (Good Emma!) This establishment has a good selection of beers etc, plus instead of bread they serve a delicious basket of warm pretzels with a spicy mustard - just wonderful. The simplest dishes seemed to be... If you like dogs and ales, this is the place for you. I didn't know what to expect of this place and then we walked in and saw all of these pictures of dogs. Loved the atmosphere and then my salad, sandwich, and root beer float where all very good. I also appreciated that because my mother and I were... More

I have been here many times for dinner, but this was the first time I had eaten lunch here. Warm pretzel rolls with mustard to start are always welcome. I ended up with a salmon burger, which was huge--I'm not sure how anyone gets the whole thing in his/her mouth--and very tasty. I deconstructed it and was able to eat... More

My friend and I went to Emma's Ale House for a friendly dinner. Good we had reservations because they were packed on a Friday night. We both selected the sesame crusted seared ahi sandwich. The waiter asked how we wanted it cooked and we told him seared on the outside, and rare inside, like it normally is done. And that... More

My husband and I ate lunch at Emma's with friends. The restaurant was fairly quiet on Saturday afternoon--we were one of only a few tables seated. Our friends were running a bit late, but the host sat us anyway and we were served delicious pretzel rolls while waiting. We ordered the chorizo quesadilla and a salad with fried haddock (a... More

I've wanted to like this place. It's a great atmosphere, nice people. When they first opened the food was good, basic pub food. But the other night, Our entree salads of arugula and blackened chicken was inedible. Wilted greens and thin, overcooked chicken that was more like cardboard soaked in very salty water. We consoled ourselves with a dessert- brownie... More
