Amazing Beef on Weck!

My sister and I decided to try out this place know for their Beef on Weck. They definitely stand up to their claim with thick, juicy pieces of roast beef cooked to your liking. If you order the platter, you can choose to have a side salad and have your choice of potato. We both got the German... read more

If you want Beef On Weck, this is the place! In addition, all home made soups and great German meals. If you're in a rush, this isn't the place, as they take their time, which is just fine. Also one of the few places that has real draft Birch Beer. When I go I usually get the Beef On Weck,... More

Just not what it used to be! Way overpriced! Half portions would be nice! Very cramped space! I so wish the would slice the beef thinner!

I have visited this establishment twice. I don't mind paying for good food. My opinion is the price is high for mediocre food. Beef was very tough (ordered medium rare). Appears they have quite a crowd though. I wasn't impressed. Coffee and French fries were good. Not fan of coke slaw but I will not rate in that as each... More

Yes, it has been here forever and is a tradition. Traditions are good, but overpriced good but not excellent food is not. The place is so cramped, it reminds me of New York City. I would have appreciated an option for a smaller portion, but the menu is clearly marked 12 and under ONLY for the smaller portions. It is... More

Excellent Yellow Pike, german potato salad and cole slaw with locally made birch beer. Wife had a seasonal Tom and Jerry drink and really enjoyed it. LImited seating, courteous staff. Noted for their roast beef but we opted for the yellow pike plate this time.

This restaurant is extremely good. The food is delicious. We both had the roast beef and it was very tender. The Tom and Jerrys are very good. It's a little busy ,but worth the wait

If you are in the Buffalo area you should know about a sandwich that is both legendary and also only found in this region. Roast beef on Weck is something my husband spoke of in great detail before he took me to his home town the first time. Now, years later there's never a question of where we are going... More

Went to Buffalo from Long Island to see a hockey game. Heard about Schwabls from an old Anthony Bourdain no reservations show. Had to try it. We were glad we did.Had the beef on weck,by the way beef cut by hand, and aTom and Jerry.Would definitely recommend trying both. Enjoyed the meal and visit.

We discovered this place on trip advisor. It was a wonderful find! How did I ever get to 41 years old and never have beef on weck?! It was delicious. The beets and German potato salad were also super delicious. My fiancé ordered the haddock fish sandwich--it was good and the tartar sauce was homemade… But I would recommend the... More
