Schwabl's has been in biz since 1837 and well known by locals. Famous for it's Roast beef on Weck cut from the round at the bar. Menu offers other selections also. Just reopened after being closed for year and half due to car knocking it off it's foundation. Food and service good.

This is a classic place. This is decorated and up-kept impeccably, much like it might have looked in 1967. My family and I Stopped by on an early Thursday, and there was a light crowd, a mature crowd, to put it nicely. The mustachioed bartender was dressed in a tuxedo and was shaking a stiff Manhattan, most likely, when we... More

Drove 7 hrs. hoping for a delightful meal but was bummed after a 2 hr. dining experience. They just reopened after an accident closed them so of course it was crowded,I expected that this place has a great following. We were the third group in line ,no problem. The bar tender was too busy washing glasses to serve us for... More

I was so happy when Schwabl's reopened. It has been a "treat" to dine here. I travel back to Buffalo just for the haddock plate. The roast beef is always tender and is served in a variety of ways sure to please everyone. The staff is always friendly. Be sure to order extra gravy at the table to dip those... More

My boyfriend and I were deciding on a dinner destination when we saw that Schwabl's was open again (after an 8-month hiatus following an auto accident when a driver collided with the building). The food was nothing short of fantastic. It may be a little more expensive than other local restaurants, but the quality of the food more than justifies the... More

Quaint little restaurant with awesome roast beef. Must try at least once. This restaurant has been around for a long time for good reason--good food and great atmosphere.

Schwabl's is one of those places you have to visit. It's a cute, old-style restaurant that provides a very pleasing eating experience. The Beef on Weck is all the talk and very good. The place is not overly impressive, but it doesn't need to be. It's very relaxing and nice.

If you want fantastic roast beef you can't go wrong visiting Schwabl's. For those of you not from the Buffalo area we love our roast beef on a kimmelwick roll - You just have to try it.

Walking into this place you feel like you have stepped back in time, in a good way. It is an old home, not large and the tables are crammed in. There is a bar but no seats. You will be warmly and quickly greeted by either the roast beef slicer/bartender or a waitress and promptly seated. From anywhere in the... More

The food was ok - beef a little tough & dry but good with gravy. The pickled beets were wonderful as were the pickles and the German potato salad. Cocktail was good but very highly priced for a little glass.
