Great roast beef!

We came in for the famous roast beef sandwich. It was prepared expertly in front of us and tasted amazing! The roll had salt on it and was perfect with the meat! They even ask you had you like the beef prepared. Rare, medium, well etc. very good!

This place has not changed much for many years and that's a good thing! The beef is extraordinary, the staff is excellent and the decor is homey. A testament to how good the food is- the day we were there the small parking lot had cars from Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, and Illinois!

After a long absence, we decided to revisit Schwabl's Restaurant after the remodeling dust had settled. To say the least, the food was just great! Friendly people, great service and of course great tasting and very tender roast beef. My wife started with a cup of their broccoli soup and followed on with a medium rare beef sandwich with slaw... This is authentic Beef on Weck. Old style uniformed service in a small house preparing the beef the old fashioned way. Our entire party only had the Beef of Weck and everyone loved it. Consider the German Potato salad if you like it warm. Also the pickled beets were excellent... if you like pickled beets. My daughter enjoyed the artisan... More

This restaurant is a Buffalo institution! Beef on Weck - a must-have and its what they built their reputation on. Exceptionally clean, great service and top quality food. Its pricey, but well worth it.

The beef on weck was delicious. The German potato salad was really good too. My husband enjoyed the pickled beets. It is a small place and very busy so we had to wait a bit for a table. and for our food to arrive. The sandwiches were a little pricey, but we knew that going in. It was still a... More

We had to do a lunch here before we left Buffalo - it was fantastic! Love the building, the room feels classic, full of locals as well. Wait staff in uniforms, all pleasant. We had a two top table next to the guy carving the beef, every slice uniform and perfectly laid out on those fantastic rolls with the top... More

Husband said we had to go to Schwabl's if we were in East Aurora area so we did. Had the famous beef on weck... Kummelweckbread that is. Tasty roll and not too salty even as we eyed the salt crystals on top. Wonderful sandwich. The restaurant itself is a roll back in time. The bar is beautiful and the waitresses... More

i am a former Buffalo resident and now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was visiting my family over the 4th of July holiday. Read many reviews about this restaurant and had never been here. What a mistake. Overpriced food and horrible service. Our waitress Cheryl couldn't be anymore rude or accomodating. Never once came back to refill our drinks.... More
