Excellent Yellow Pike, german potato salad and cole slaw with locally made birch beer. Wife had a seasonal Tom and Jerry drink and really enjoyed it. LImited seating, courteous staff. Noted for their roast beef but we opted for the yellow pike plate this time.

This restaurant is extremely good. The food is delicious. We both had the roast beef and it was very tender. The Tom and Jerrys are very good. It's a little busy ,but worth the wait

If you are in the Buffalo area you should know about a sandwich that is both legendary and also only found in this region. Roast beef on Weck is something my husband spoke of in great detail before he took me to his home town the first time. Now, years later there's never a question of where we are going... More

Went to Buffalo from Long Island to see a hockey game. Heard about Schwabls from an old Anthony Bourdain no reservations show. Had to try it. We were glad we did.Had the beef on weck,by the way beef cut by hand, and aTom and Jerry.Would definitely recommend trying both. Enjoyed the meal and visit.

We discovered this place on trip advisor. It was a wonderful find! How did I ever get to 41 years old and never have beef on weck?! It was delicious. The beets and German potato salad were also super delicious. My fiancé ordered the haddock fish sandwich--it was good and the tartar sauce was homemade… But I would recommend the... More

I've been going to Schwabl's for over 50 years - it's been a stable in my family for even longer. Schwabl's was closed for over nine months do to an accident and just re-opened the end of August. I've gone twice since it's re-opening and have been disappointed both times. The roast beef has been dry and not flavorful at... More

Schwabl's is O.K. Unfortunately, they do not serve rare roast beef as both my husband and I enjoy. We prefer Ekle's in Orchard Park.

I've been going to Schwabl's for over 30 years and the restaurant has always been friendly with great service, even traveling there as a kid from Rochester. The roast beef on weck is wonderful, mashed potatoes always the best and pickled beets my absolute favorite. Can't be beat for the experience.

As a former Buffaloean, we used to frequent Schwabl's any chance we got. The beef on weck is still delicious. Served hot and fresh, lean beef (sirloin, I think) on their famous weck (salted bun). Was very disappointed this time that my roll was not fresh but toasted. One small area was hard as if it had been frozen. The... More

Visited Schwabl's for dinner on a Friday night with friends from Buffalo. Wanted to have the classic beef on weck experience, so we hit this landmark. Restaurant is small and since it was busy, seemed pretty cramped. Had a short wait at the bar - you stand basically right inside the front door and really near the closest tables. While... More
