The food does not come close to living up to the surroundings. Two night stay at Thayer Hotel, ate here both nights. First, in Zulu Lounge, bar food, low expectations fully met. The MacArthur dining room is gorgeous, with outdoor dining overlooking the Hudson; so far, so good. Ordered 'crab and lobster cake' appetizer at $13; nary a hint of... More

My wife and I met my brother and his wife for Sunday brunch at the Thayer Hotel in West Point, NY. We did make a reservation. While the brunch is relatively expensive at $37 each, it seems a favored gathering spot for families. It is a champagne brunch with attentive service and a wide variety of foods to eat. There... Friday night is Chocolate and Seafood Buffet. Not your normal buffet! REAL seafood and not the fried variety! Dessert buffet was also impressive with more options than my waistline would take in. New Year's Eve party also provided excellent food!

We choose to revisit Macarthur's ,this past Saturday, for a special occasion which turned out not to be the best idea. Extremely disappointed in the table placement, service and the quality of food at the lunch buffet. I requested a different table to sit at we were given 2 undesirable locations. The hostess would not avail herself in making other... More

Delicious, great variety, prepared perfectly (hard to do with fish, but mine could not have been better), fresh crisp salad bar, dessert table full of many selections.

Visited the Thayer Hotel this weekend and headed for Zulu Time. The service was incredible and I was able to order dinner off of the Main Dining Room menu because I wanted a Steak! The steak was one of the best steak dinners I've ever had, and enjoying it with the river view behind me made the evening perfect. The... More

The buffet is delicious, the catering staff does an exceptional job in ensuring the food is fresh and when possibly locally grown. The food presentation is top shelf!

Two families, a party of six, met for the "famed" brunch. The food was uninspired and anemic-looking, especially after spending time in the chafing dishes. The eggs were runny, the potatoes, soggy, the bacon, grossly undercooked. The croissants were soggy on the bottoms and there were no jams to choose from. The big disappointment was the dessert spread as this... More
