Tasty, fresh and seemingly popular - with good setting and view!

We stopped in earlier in the evening and were lucky enough to get a table, with almost everything reserved. The dinner menu seemed much more limited than the lunch menu and some feedback would be to offer more of your lunch items at dinner also. We asked to have fish and chips off the lunch menu... read more

We visited Sunday lunch, everything about our visit was excellent including the good friendly service. I tried green lipped mussels and asked for a smaller portion as I also wanted the pan fried Hapukda fish, this was no problem for them. My companion skipped the mussels and joined me in get fish, we also had a bowl of hand cut... More

Had a wonderful evening at Salt . . . a big thank you to all the staff. The six of us had variety from the menu and not surprisingly so close to the waterfront, fish of the day (Hapuka) and Coromandel mussels featured strongly. The waitress and floor manager were very welcoming, professional and enhanced a joyful occasion for us... More

Family and I thought Salt would be a good place to have lunch, we walked in and asked if we could eat there and asked for two tables to be out together as there were 7of us including a young child and an infant. The waitress assured us it was fine and she would set a table for us. From... More

Really lovely friendly staff, and great food. Attached to the Whitianga Hotel this is a great place for lunch or dinner. We all enjoyed the night, the staff gave us advise on what to have and they were spot on. Highly recommended

We recently had dinner here and had a nice meal. Was spoilt a bit when the music was turned up very loud and the speaker right by our table. Staff where happy to turn this down when spoken to.

We took the pedestrian ferry from Ferry Landing and decided, after spending the early evening mooching around town, to have dinner and found Salt. It overlooks the yacht marina and despite being Friday & very busy the friendly waiting staff found us a good table on the balcony. Fish had to eaten. Good choice. The food was excellent. A great... The food was delicious and very good portions. All the plates were very clean at the end of the meal. Would recommend this to all.

The setting is lovely however we were seated outside in a very dark spot which made it quite difficult to order and eat. Unfortunately the food wasn't very well executed - a cerviche that lacked flavour and my steak that was no better that the steak I'd had the night before at the pub at half the price. I think...
