Hour and a half for steak

The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. When it eventually arrived. To be fair, it was a busy holiday weekend, we were warned that there would be a delay, and the staff were very apologetic. But even after taking a 30 minute walk after ordering, it was still over an hour of sitting at the... read more

It is a crime that places this bad exist. But what's more insulting is that tourists go here (its a tourist town after all) and get treated this way. the food covered three main areas of disappointment, firstly it was horrifically expensive secondly it was of a standard that i would expect to come out of a caravan at the... I am ashamed as a New Zealander that this standard of dining is being offered to our overseas tourists. Not cheap, run by amateur cook/barstaff, shocking food meant I didn't even want to give the restaurant even a one star. Mussels dish supposedly with coconut sauce - really just warmed up milk in which a coconut must have dashed through,... More

I Have never had to write a review before, but had to after going to this place! Owners . need to do a kiwi host course ASAP before this place gets shut down and they damage our tourist industry. The only service we received consisted of taking the money. Even a empty beer handle on the table could not pry... More

Food was very poor. The Garlic bread had no garlic and tasted re-heated to me. The steaks had a strange taste to them. Mine tasted soapy and another in our group used the words smelt like rubber. The sides were even worse. The mushroom sauce was what I describe as gluggy and tasted terrible. The side of onions was not... More

On a Saturday evening a poor meal was served - but at the kind of prices for which good food and service could be expected. One of two steaks arrived undercooked in comparison to the other and consisting of 50% gristle and fat. Very disappointing. When explained to the person collecting the plates he said he'd mention it to the... More

Service average....food average, when you pay $30 for a steak you'd think you'd get some gravy with it....but no that's extra! Better places in Whitianga to eat.

The ambience in this restaurant is soothing and comfortable. The Menu caters for steak lovers although fish and other dishes are offered. Seating is available on three levels. Television screens are dotted about on the rustic timber walls. A shuttle service was available while we were there last - making a decision to visit their establishment very easy!

I don't know why this place is in business. When the 8 of us arrived there was no one else there. That should have been the cue we needed to go elsewhere - we all wish we had. The garlic bread was ok, but that was about all. They just can't cook, I mean even the mashed potato tasted warmed... More
