Tried mussels pots and brownie which were great! All dishes were served nicely and presentable. Nice place for couples and families. And the portion is large and filling. Lunch and dinner both available.

Wonderful place to have some good seafood. Service was very warm and helpful with the staff helping to get us the best deals and the best food! The kids menu is good as well.

Would have been nice to have a view of the harbour out the front door, but the all glass front is frosted. Food was nice, especially the clams, but the menu didn't suggest it would be a lot of fresh fish and seafood as most dishes were crumbed or pan fried. But a reasonable place for lunch.

This restaurant was amazing for food. There was a lovely atmosphere, as well as a cheery chef and waitress. The mussels and the Steak were perfectly cooked. Do not order too much food at this restaurant as you will sure be full after the first course. Main courses are around $30.

We had a lovely meal here whilst on holiday in NZ. I had fish of the day (Kingfish) which was served with roasted vegetables and my husband had mussels. We both really enjoyed our meals which were well cooked and very tasty, for a reasonable price. I would recommend this restaurant.

Whitianga is only a small place and there are limited places to eat. Squids is very popular & as it was a Friday night we booked-if not we wouldn't have got in. We both had the Kingfish ( like tuna) with potato wedges & steamed veg ($29). Fabulous fish beautifully presented. Our puds of panna cotta with chopped nuts ($10)... More

My partner and I lunch here the staff were nice and friendly . We both had kilo muscle pots the wine / garlic and the wheat beer / mustard with chips. Both were delightful the wine and garlic were the best. Good selection of wine and beverages. This restaurant is down by the marina plenty of parking nearby.

Had a very enjoyable dinner at Squids. Service was good and the food was excellent. We had a small wait for a seat as we had not booked - but a short walk around the waterfront and back - our table was ready.

Go there just for the seafood chowder. It is the best you will ever have and excellent value at $14. We went for lunch. Friendly service and helpful staff.

We wandered into Squids for lunch at the suggestion of staff at our resort. It was a wet and windy Monday and we were warmly greeted by the waitress on duty. She was friendly and interested without being fussy and her attentive service really did make our visit - I just wish I could remember her name! I enjoyed the... More
