Pity, the reviews were good but it no longer exists and has been replaced by a cafe / gifts shop called "French Fig" which we did not visit. Dated 8th January 2014

We wanted an early dinner one evening during our stay at Whitianger and called in to The Carvery which opened at 5pm. . We were warmly welcomed by the owners and shown to our table and served our drinks and having time to take in our nicely decorated surroundings with nice artwork on the walls. Had a meal at the Carvery on the 14th November this year. Very good value for $21 plate of Roast beef and veg. Beef was lovely and plenty of it, Vegetables a bit washed out and kumara undercooked and not browned at all. $15 dollar plates not good value, plates too small for price.

Exceptionally prepared meals, great service and outstanding value for money. A must visit for everyone visiting Whitianga, particularly if you have kids and want something more substantial than greasy ol' takeaways.

On offer are traditional roasts, Beef, Lamb, Pork and Chicken, vegetables are plentiful and accompanying sauces for all meats.. We visited from Hahei Beach, crossing over on the passenger ferry. Delightful little restaurant, nicely appointed, great meal, friendly staff, worth tracking it down!

Delish roast beef and veges. My husband had lamb and loved it. A few dollars dearer than our local, but you expect that with a small tourist town. Good service, well packaged for take away. Second year we've been here while on holiday and will return.
