An Extraordinary Dining Experience

My husband and I returned to the resort where we spent our honeymoon just over 18 years ago and had one of the best meals of our lives. It was faultless from the service to the food. If I lived in the area I would dine here all the time. Amuse bouche - veal terrine - fabulous. Entrees - Quail... read more

Having seen all the pictures taken of the Lodge from the outside the inside of the restaurant couldn't be more underwhelming. It reminded our group of a cheesy, dated, wedding reception venue. A vast room with little atmosphere with old fashioned furnishings and decor. Its a shame because the food is excellent. With hot competition such as Knee Deep and... More

We stayed at Cape Lodge for two nights and were booked in for 7.00pm dinner in the restaurant the first night. We had pre-dinner drinks in the quiet & relaxed adjoining lounge before being shown to our table by the window overlooking the lake in the spacious but still intimate restaurant. We had the five course taster menu of oysters,... More

A very quiet dining room with no outstanding view a quiet lake but a feel of cosiness which is part of the pleasure to be there. However the dining room is old fashioned and would need to be renovated. Regarding cuisine all the courses of the à la carte menu where perfect quality of the products cooking présentation. On significant... More

We live locally and have been to cape lodge many times, mostly for special occasions and with Tony Howells at the helm (now at Aravina) where the food was not only top range but a fair price....currently the venue, the service and for most the food is great but the pricing structure currently means you cannot ( for 2) get... My husband and I highly recommend dining at cape lodge as the sun sets with their exquisite view of forestry overlooking a magnificent lake. The food was beyond to die for with every mouthful making your taste buds dance with delicious delight! We enjoyed the 5 course degustation and believe it to be worth every dollar!! The head chef was... More

We searched for the best restaurant in the River and this place kept popping up. The food, service and view across the lake did not disappoint and I cannot recommend highly enough.
