We ate dinner overlooking the lake with parrots bathing. We started dinner with beets and chèvre with hazelnuts-delicious followed by great of veal, fresh truffles, potato puree baby spinach and garlic with sides of crispy fried new potatoes and sautéed greens followed by an amazing choice of delicious deserts and sumptuous cheese plate if you can handle it. Oh and... More

My husband and I had both dinner and breakfast at Cape Lodge and could not fault any of the food presented. Yes it is pricey but you pay for what you get and provided you are aware of this, it is the perfect choice for that special occasion celebration.

Stayed at Cape Lodge for the long weekend, and had dinner here on first night of our stay. Food well prepared. Service great. Wife is vegetarian - was well catered for. Better reviewed by professionals in other locations, but for this amateur it was a great night. Breakfast each morning as part of the Lodge package was also wonderful.

Group of five of us ordered the entire ala carte menu with the exception of the salmon main. Now in terms of price, it was the same high price (aud145) whether you ordered 3 courses or you ordered the 5 courses chef tasting menu. The dishes in the tasting menu line-up can be found in the ala carte menu. If... More

A nice place to stop off and try the lavender scones jam and double cream with tea, while you are searching the numerous vineyards in the Caves Road area. Lots of things lavender to buy also, including soft toys and lotions and potions, well worth a visit.

Amazing six course tasting menu, as good as if not better than we've had in Michelin starred restaurants. Lovely location overlooking the lake, and the wine pairings were delicious. Would have given 5 stars, if it weren't for the ants in the sugar bowl when they served coffee! They did apologise and give us a bottle of wine and a... More

The room was 5 star. Comfy bed, relaxing, great view of the lake. Breakfast was perfection. Great stay and service. Close to our favourite Italian restaurant la casina.

It was hard to fault our 5 course tasting dinner at Cape Lodge this evening. The food was fresh, the flavours delightful and the service friendly and efficient. From the amuse bouche of pate and citrus to the marron on pumpkin puree to the superb steak each course was memorable. This is not a cheap night out but the overall... More

We stayed at Cape Lodge for 3 days, the breakfasts were excellent and we ate in the restaurant for one evening. As a treat we had the tasting menu with matching wines - the food was three of the starters, the venison, a pudding and cheese. All the ingredients were fresh, delicious and interestingly put together (maybe 'soil' appeared too... More

We stayed here for a bit of a treat and had the Chef Tasting Menu. The food was amazing with lots of local produce and great presentation. The service was nothing short of brilliant. The grounds at Cape Lodge are immaculate and the restaurant sits right next to a lovely dam. It is quite expensive ($145 each not including alcohol)... More
