Surprising

Well I eventually stopped here on my way to perth and was very pleased. I found the cafe bright and clean and the staff also. I ordered eggs benedict from the breakfast menu. Not your conventional eggs benedict, this was more ham and eggs with commercial Hollindaise sauce squirted over it. However... read more

Good food, I've eaten there a few times, it's right next door to Kodja Place, the tourist centre, and you can catch the bus to Perth or Albany from there, too.

My wife and I are regulars at the Black Cockatoo while driving south to Denmark. Place is always buzzing, friendly staff and clean and functional ammenities. Dog friendly outside verendah. Coffee and snacks are reliably good with quick and friendly service.

Jokingly mentioned that I usually have pancakes for breakfast and both the staff and chef went out of their way to accommodate me. Chef mentioned that the "demented" 😃 pancake was at the bottom of the stack when the food was brought out so I left that one for the husband, which he soon inhaled. (All tasted good). Great food... This is a business that could be so much more. Kojonup is an natural stopping point on a Perth-Albany or Perth-Denmark journey but our experience is that the Black Cockatoo is not a reliable source of refreshment. Service has often been agonisingly slow even when custom is light, opening times often too late to be of use, closures often coinciding... More

Wheel chair friendly and also pet friendly. Have tables outside as well as on a verandah on the side protected from weather. We sat out fron and enjoyed a lovely cool breeze. The... More
