Best in Exmouth for seafood (but not the calamari)

Had a very pleasant dinner. Seafood tasting plate is excellent entree for2. Calamari was very disappointing - not much of it, too thin and padded out with salad. A bum choice. Mains were good - seafood gumbo, seafood pasta & grilled fish of the day. Reasonably priced wines too.

Celebrating a family birthday on holidays at Whalers the staff looked after us very well, especially my mother who had her birthday. Food serve sizes are LARGE and have great flavour - share or skip entrée if you plan on having dessert. It was a fantastic start to a week in Exmouth and had we stayed longer we would have... More

It's a large, modern restaurant with outside seating and reservations are recommended during school holidays. The gumbo seemed expensive but was spiced perfectly and had soft-shelled crabs and lots of other seafood. Our daughter ordered a steak, which was great, but the mashed potatoes stole the show. Food was artistically presented. The service was prompted and cheerful. It was unusually... More

We ate here twice during our short trip to Exmouth and both visits the food was outstanding. The 'Reef and Beef' was delicious and cooked to perfection, and the pasta fully loaded with flavour and seafood. The seafood medley is a must as it showcases some of the nicest seafood in Australia. The service was quick and efficient leaving us... More

For a small town Exmouth has some excellent dining options and Whalers proved to be the best. The seafood was fresh, well cooked and presented. Service was efficient and very friendly. Despite a rather cold wind and intermittent rain we were still able to sit outdoors on the terrace due to the excellent patio heaters. All round two great meals... More

Fantastic meal, good value and beautiful food. Very friendly staff. The only slight downside was that the food took a long time to come out, as they restaurant was full, but it was worth the wait!

Food was excellent, all 4 kids voted their Gnocchi the meal of the year to date. The seafood curry also highly recommended.

There's just one vegan-friendly main meal option on the menu - a mixed vegetable curry and also a vegan-friendly dessert - mixed berry crumble with soy ice cream. Both good.

Plenty of variety in the menu, including good options for vegetarians. Wait staff were good - ready whenever we needed them but not hovering over us all the time. Meals were all good quality and generous portions. Restaurant was busy - every table occupied for some of the time and walk-in customers turned away or had to wait for a... More
