Lovely Winter's Evening Dinner with a touch of elegance

We dined here on a cold winter's night. We stepped in the door and they knew who we were from our booking time. The guys who ran the restaurant are just lovely and very attentative. The fire was going and the so was the air con thankfully. The atmosphere showed this was a favourite hotel of... read more

I had been told many times about this restaurant. Fire blazing, lovely and intimate and the food was exceptional. I was on my own and made to feel very welcome by Phillip.

We dined here on a Saturday night as a couple and chose this restaurant from the reviews. Unfortunately on the night we attended it failed to live up to the excellent reviews of others. On arrival we were greeted and pointed to our table. The restaurant was fairly full at this time but I could only see one person, the... More

Quite nice atmosphere. The staff were excellent. They may have changed ownership since I was last there. Bellingen is a beautiful town and Oak Street is a little off the Main Street but worth the walk.

A very attractive and cosy restaurant on a winter's night; music at just the right level, good wine, comforting food (slow braised beef cheek cottage pie), plenty of other diners even midweek so a very nice atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you.

I wish I lived closer - just the best slow-cooked lamb shoulder, a quiet, sunny spot on the verandah of a stylish old house, perfect country friendliness, combined with fresh produce and excellence. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were in town for the night and decided to go to this quaint old character filled building 2 Oak street. The restaurant had a warm open fire that we sat near, John Coltrane playing in the background and a friendly and knowledgeable host, Phil. The food. Well the food was awesome. We have eaten all around... More

We stumbled across this fantastic restaurant on a stopover in Bellingen and we were so pleased to have found this little gem. We arrived after a long drive and we found the place so warm and welcoming. Best Sourdough bread we have had. Such friendly service and the fish was so fresh and delicious. Thanks for making Bellingen such a... More

This was a fabulous restaurant in the past but it had a high price tag (well for this area anyway). It was more of a 'special occasions only' place for most people I knew. I had no idea that with the change of ownership, they had changed their focus. This place is now affordable for regular patronage!! I had a... More

My dad booked this restaurant for dinner last night for my mum's birthday. The service was amazing. The hosts made us feel like we were visiting friends for dinner. We all had the pork belly and I have to say it was the best pork belly I've ever had (and I have had my fair share of pork belly over... More
