day one, new arrivals, first time innocents on St Mary's, and we stumble upon this delightful beachfront eatery. fab! a sofa for two, a cornish cider and a glass of wine, and some great tasting food. I had the souvlaki which was full of authentic greek flavour. We returned one evening for supper - you need to book here as... More

Brilliant location for any meal or drink. Went twice during our stay and had excellent Tapas on both occasions. Friendly, efficient service with good selection of drinks.

Dibble & Grub continues to delight. Every meal we've had here - over a period of many years - has been excellent. It's always our destination of choice for our first dinner of each holiday and the last before we go home - not to mention several more visits during the course of our stay! The quality of the food... More

I confess we were taken a little aback to find out there was a new Tapas Place on St Mary's. It sort of felt like it...didn't quite fit. But, when you think about, tapas culture (or, more accurately, British view of tapas culture) is all about beer, sunshine and seafronts, and there are plenty of local prawns and squid to... More

We had just embarked from the ferry, the Scillonian, from Penzance. The harbour was busy so we walked through 2 streets to Porthcressa Bay. Wow, beautiful white sands, warm and sunny yet no crowds. I can see why they call the Isles of Scilly the Maldives of the Atlantic. This cafe was ideally placed with seating and tables outside. The... More

The weather was holding off so we decided to eat on the terrace... Big mistake. I was just getting outside my souvlaki when a gull swept in from behind and took the lot. I said "oh what an unpleasant surprise" or words to that effect and consoled myself with a remaining bit of lamb. Fortunately the waitress offered me a... More

This cafe is in a great place overlooking the Porthcressa beach. The male waiters were very pleasant, but the female behind the counter was grumpy and not very hospitable. I found the soft drinks and coffee rather pricey. Also they would not accept bank cards for anything less than 10 pounds so be warned.

We happened to visit just a few minutes before the menu changed from breakfasts/morning to lunchtime. The server was very efficient and immediately asked which menu we wanted to order from as the changeover was imminent. Other establishments would not, I'm sure, be as thoughtful. We had a very nice lunch accompanied by great rustic fries. The service was good... More
