A pint and a view

This was our second visit to St Agnes and we planned our walk around the island in order to finish, with time to spare, at the Turks Head. After a long walk in the warm weather, being able to sit outside at a picnic table with a Cornish pint with the beautiful view of the islands in front of you,... read more

Now there are pubs, then there is The Turks Head....... On the rugged yet beautiful Island of St Agnes and the last inhabited part of the UK before America or the first point you see when coming back to the UK from America, the pub is like no other in the UK. Set just a short walk from the Quay,... More

A lovely traditional old seafaring pub. Excellent beer, cider etc. The food was good, tasty fare. Staff very friendly and helpful. We took the boat from St Mary's in the evening and he came back 3hours later to collect us, plenty of time to enjoy a good meal and a few beers. Lovely views from the pub itself and the... More

We arrived and saw the notice to order pasties I. It seemed quiet so I did not bother. We walked round Gugh and returned for lunch to find them out of pasties. I enjoy my eggs and chips and my wife was delighted with her Mediterranean Veg. Salad

Lovely pub, lovely view, lovely food. Sadly having checked our bill at the end of our meal with friends, we found that 4 items had been added. This was in the form of extra drinks (totaling £15). This was immediately refunded without any quibble. Unfortunately we had an extra drink added to our bill last year, also refunded. How many... More

On my recent weeks holiday on St Agnes we visited the Turks Head several times for drinks and twice for meals, a good selection of ale cider and wines. Well cooked and presented meals the staff always smiling and pleased to help. Would recomend any one staying on St Ages to call.

We had lunch here and the burger meal was excellent. The portion was substantial and we noticed that other meals being served were too. The view here is stunning from outside and also from the windows. The interior is full of character with lots of interesting items on display.

Some people don't like pubs, which is a shame because they are certainly missing something. Especially when you consider gems like the Turks Head. Situated on the island of St Agnes, it is probably the most southwesterly pub in the British Isles. It used to be a lifeboat station. One of two, on opposite sides of the islands, so they... More

There's a lot of farting around, mollycoddling and gastro-nonsense in Scilly pubs (indeed, pubs everywhere) these days, so it is kind of refreshing to see the most south-westerly pub in the country is sticking to proper pub tradition: good beer and non-nonsense filling grub. Not that it's mush, oh no. The Turks Head menu is carefully selected from local ingredients... More

As part of a three island trip, we visited this pub late in the afternoon. The pub has a great selection of ales, wines and spirits. The sign on the outside of the pub about booking your pasty early is advice we wished we would have taken! The pub has one of the best views from the garden we have... More
