I had the chance to dine here while taking a short break from visiting many Chateaux in the area. The town town of St. Emilion in and of itself is idyllic. Stepping in, wasbt sure what to expect given its location in a hotbed anthill of tourist during the high season (in the summer). I was absolutely in love with... More

First visited this characterful, decent-value restaurant in the Wine Disneyland of Saint-Emilion in the winter of 1999/2000 ... the waiters were despondent about losing the rugby world cup final to Australia. The food was amazing, starting with an 'AAAAA' Andouillette, a tripe sausage approved by the Association Amicale des Amateurs d'Andouillette Authentique ... A few glasses of Cuvée Fanny (still... We had pre-booked this restaurant for a group of approx 20 persons with the clear understanding that we only had a limited time for lunch and were on a fixed schedule for wine tasting at a St. Emilion chateau. We had to and did all pre-order the same menu prior to arrival. We were seated outdoors which had a nice... More

Everything we had was excellent. It was a rainy day and the restaurant was packed. They went out of their way to help us and get us a table. Service was wonderful and the food was delicious. A local friend ordered the Tricandilles for me and light heartedly I tried them... I still have a total recall of the assault... More

We had lunch here during a day of visiting vineyards. We loved the ambiance with walls covered in vintage French advertising and posters. The service was friendly and helpful, but a little slow, as it was pretty busy the day we went. Our lunch was delicious and comforting on a rainy afternoon in town. If they have it on the... More

My wife and I called here late in season on a Monday night. Got a table at 8pm without reservation but it was busy with locals and tourists. Fantastic Foie Gras to start, escalope of pork shoulder, and seasonal veg.The carrots, turnips and mushrooms were simply cooked. Cheese to finish. Very comprehensive wine list and we drank a Grand Cru... More

Like many prior reviewers we went on recommendation of our innkeeper. Missed out on sitting outside so I would advise reserving--even midweek in late Oct. Had some misgivings with the unevenness of the prior reviews but our experience was great. It was as advertised-- a bistro experience. Having had our fill of duck and goose we opted for steak and... Came here for dinner based on the recommendation of our hotel. We had no problem getting a table without a reservation but we went just a few minutes after opening. About a half hour later they were packed and we probably would not have had the same ease, despite it being the off season. My husband and I each ordered... More

I visited early in the evening on the recommendation of the B&B where I stayed and was extremely disappointed with the main course duck, which although the most expensive duck dish in France over a 3 week period, was tough and lacked flavour and was by far the worst duck dish (the others would all rate as good to fantastic).... The atmosphere is rustic and noisy. The food is good and the service OK. Nothing special here, specially as compared to other French restaurants.
