Cozy little place

I was pleasantly surprised to find a German restaurant in little Weedsport, NY. My husband and I stopped at the Old Erie for lunch. Food was wonderful and service great. Just think the environment could be updated a bit. Will certainly stop there again when in Weedsport.

We were drawn to this restaurant because we knew Tom's B'que sauce was being used on Wednesday nights. The server, Stephanie, was excellent! She told us the owner was a professional chef, so our expectation was elevated. We are professional reviewers in Syracuse; we chose the B'que platter to share. This was described by the server but not on the... More

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on our way home this afternoon. From the outside looks like a quaint, friendly, small town restaurant. It couldn't be more different on the inside. They have a very limited bar selection, but that is the least of their problem. As we were ordering, I watched an elderly couple served their food.... More

My husband's order of perogies was very salty, but the spinach on my vegetable ravioli was so salty that it was inedible. No one apologized when I pointed it out to the waitress. What a shame, because sorry goes a long way in my book. We won't return.

Weedsport is a tiny town on route 31 in New York State along the Erie Canal. We stayed here for the night and found the Old Erie Restaurant as a recommendation from the hotel. We were not sure what we expected but were pleasantly surprised at the good food. I had fresh fish, an overly ample helping but delicious. My... More

I went in for holiday dinner with the family. They offer holiday selections and everything was good. The service was acceptable and the atmosphere was comfortable. This is a real restaurant in a great town.

This is a great place to stop off exit 40 on Thruway. It is better than those fast food stops and an easy on/off stop.

Randomly pulled off the NY Thruway into Weedsport for dinner and picked this restaurant because it appeared to be the only non-fastfood or tavern establishment. Quite glad I picked the Old Erie. Food was quite good and found the bread with lentils especially tasty.Steak dinner was excellent and competitively priced and kid's menu priced well. Would easily recommend this restaurant.

Driving from Canada to Philly we needed somewhere off the NY Thruway to eat. By pure chance we got off at Weedsport. The choice was an Arby's or Old Erie. We THOUGHT that this would be the better of two evils but to our surprise and delight we had an excellent meal. I agree with some of the others that... More

Ordered take out lobster mac and cheese and for 21.00 $ the only thing good was the lentil salad. The mac and cheese was dry and pastey and scallops were over seasoned and wheres the lobster? makes me wonder what will happen to my digestive system tomorrow. was serviced by the barkeeper who had no personality at all and deserved...
