My wife and I do NOT like fast food or its Corporations. This trip across the NY State Thruway, we got off the Thruway for meals and were delighted by what we found. For instance there was this place in Weedsport, NY of all places. Great German food. And I had a Cobb Salad that was really good other than... More

There's something for every taste at Old Erie. This Weedsport landmark is definitely one of the top choices in the area. I had the Veal "Schnitzel" and the rest of group had Chicken Marsala - all nicely prepared and served hot. We were all too full to have desert. The room acoustics leave something to be desired and the service... More

Driving I90, we were looking for an alternative fast food. So after checking Tripadvisor, we decided to try this spot which is a short detour from the freeway. What a pleasant surprise. A nice, diversified menu including great salads (my wife had the salmon salad), Pizzas and sandwiches, and -- surprise -- German food including Wiener schnitzel and Jaeger schnitzel.... More

Had a memorable dinner with friends from Maine. The service was great, we were not rushed or hovered over. Our meals were done to perfection, served hot. Can't wait to go back

Convenient to the NYS Thruway. Family owned featuring German and Italian cuisine. Service was attentive and portions were more than ample. The homemade roasted vegetable ravioli with red pepper sauce was outstanding. The fish fry was the best ever eaten and was a 2 meal dish. Desserts were house made and our recommendation is the must have hummingbird cake. Certainly... More

This family-owned restaurant offers a range of German and Italian specialties along with all the staples of a scratch made family restaurant. We had the sesame salmon salad and the Jägerschnitzel. Both were delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive, and the garden seats were peaceful even though they were near the street.

Our group was not overly thrilled with the food or service. Granted it was a big party (18 people), but the restaurant wasn't willing to allow separate checks for families. The food which has a German theme was not the best I have sampled. Many of the group said the same thing.

I had "The Atlantic", featuring a baked/broiled whitefish perfectly sauted green beans and an excellent bowl of lobster/tomato bisque soup. The fish was as perfectly prepared as it could be, just cooked to the point of done, no more or less. The flesh was flakey and translucent., and featured a crumb topping. Looking forward to dining there on my return... More
