Description: Notably the last restaurant on Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, Delaware...
Notably the last restaurant on Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, Delaware before entering Ocean City, Maryland, Delaware may have saved the best for last. The award winning Fenwick Crabhouse has been an icon in the resort for almost 50 years. Though being named a "favorite seafood dive in the US" for an unprecedented fourth straight year by Coastal Living Magazine, the Fenwick Crabhouse is hardly a dive. While the atmosphere is casual, they have an appealing menu of carefully prepared meals catering to a variety of tastes. You will find great wines, craft beers, their hallmark "The Perfect Crab cake" (NY Times), Delaware Magazine's 2011 "Best Ribs," and of course, those wonderful steamed crabs. Their mission is to provide a unique blend of creatively prepared dishes using fresh, locally grown foods and award-winning beverages to the table. The Fenwick Crabhouse is a seasonal restaurant off-season hours change before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Call for hours.

Rather expensive but good

Fenwick crabhouse has been around forever and has good seafood. The only bad part is that it is rather expensive for what you get.

The Fenwick Crabhouse <was> one of about half a dozen restaurants we frequent for dinner when we visit Ocean City. It's been 2 or 3 years since we went there. I suppose my expectations are founded on enjoyable memories of prior visits. How foolish of me. Cosmetically, the place hasn't changed that much except for the grand and ornate sports... More

Hi Ric, I remember speaking with you the night you were in.You complained that the Jumbo soft shell crab and 8oz. fried flounder where too heavily breaded and that you would have preferred them broiled. Unfortunately you registered your complaint with us after the bill was paid and you were leaving the restaurant. Waiting until then left us without the... More

We went to the crabs hack on rt 54 in Fenwick island. It was a small place with dining tables around the bar. The food was delicious, but it was so noisy even at 3pm in the afternoon that we could not hear each other. Great place, but more of a bar scene. The food was served hot, promptly, and... More

We went here for crabs. We got the conbination of crab cakes, crab soup and steamed crabs. It was all very good. A bit on the pricey side, but don't mind that if it is all good. We will go back there again.

I am going to cut and paste the email I sent to the owner of the restaurant. I apologize in advance for the long review. This was truly a terrible meal. "Dear Sir - My name is Shannon Ceccoli. I am on vacation with 6 members of my family and we went to your restaurant for dinner earlier this evening.... More

This has been in Fenwick for 30+ years. They have to be doing something right to last this long. Not a foody place but very good down home seafood dinners. Crab cake and deep fried scallops are the best in our opinion. Are they going to get it right every time, nope. Maybe just a little pricey for the atmosphere... More

We went to this crab house on a recommendation of another tracker at our hotel. It was great! We went for the all you can eat crabs and being it was toward the end of the season luck would have it, they ran out of the medium and large crabs the night before, but what a surprise when we ended... My wife and I had dinner here. With 2 entrees and 2 beers, the cost of our meal was $75. It was not a good value. My crab imperial was decent. My wife's deep-fried soft shell crab was terrible. My mashed potatoes were cold to the touch. This was an average meal for us, at best.

Returned to the Fenwick Crabhouse after a great experience last year and was terribly disappointed. 4 folks ordered the rockfish entree which arrived so overcooked it was all curled up. One order of the crab-stuffed lobster tail dinners was served without the lobster tail! All the sides were lukewarm or ice cold. The worst part was when the manager came over... More

Went here for dinner with my mother. I ordered Crabcakes, nothing to write home about for the price. They arrived COLD! The side of vegetables was good, but also cold! We were in a room with a few larger families with loud children who were moving about the area. It would be better to be in a separate area for... More
