Went to the House on 2/28/14 and it was closed/out of business. Locals say it's been sold to new owners but no one is sure. Guess when you start to go down hill, you eventually hit bottom. Hopefully, new owners will reopen and things will be better. Oh well, I'll have 20+ years of good memories.

House of Welch has been around a long time....first in Baltimore then expanded to Fenwick Island, DE. At one time it was the place to be on Friday nights with Bobby Burns on keyboard but as always, things change. HofW offers good keyboard music and hosts hand dancers from the areas. Food is good comfort food and inexpensive. Free parking.... More

The bar menu is inexpensive and it is on the last page of the menu. Patrons were there who dance all the old time music, and apparently they take the dance floor a couple of nights a week. They are fun to watch. I ordered the chicken marsala. It had a very thick sauce. The mushrooms on top of it... More

We took our grown children and grand children here for dinner. We sat on the Pub side which is what I recommend since it's smoke free just like the restaurant side. Dinners were all discounted $4 per entrée so that's a $24 for our group. Add the tax free aspect to the bill and that's another $6 off. One might... More

We were served a roach in our salad and their manager would only take one salad off our bill. Like anyone could eat after that. Oh, forgot to mention that our salads came out with the meal not before. Manager/Bartender Lisa is in the wrong business. Where is the owner? What happened to Jan, Norma, and Arlene they were sweet.... More

First time we tried this restaurant while at the beach. We were pleasantly surprised. The meal was excellent. My wife had the crab imperial. She said it was the best she's ever had at a restaurant. I had the crab cakes. They were all lump crab meat. Little or no filler. Had steamed clams for an appetizer. They were delicious.... More

When we walked in there were only two other tables filled out of the whole restaurant, that was kind of perplexing to us. We were told we could sit anywhere, and once we sat down and ordered it took at least 10 minutes for us to get our drinks and our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to... More

This was an annual " go to " restaurant for the whole family when visiting OC. This last time the once delicious crab soup was at best mediocre with more flour filler than cream. The " fresh dusted and fried oysters" looked like processed chicken tenders and tasted as bad as they looked. Their version of chicken imperial was so... More

Outdated menu. Old, outdated dining room. Overcooked, underseasoned food. Don't waste your time and money. There are much better options in the area. The only bright spot was the friendly attentive waitstaff. If she's smart she'll find another place to work.

We live in the resort area full time and go out quite often for dinner. Hadn't been here for quite a while since previous visit wasn't too good. This visit sealed the deal for us!! It took forever for a waitress to recognize we needed service, asked for two waters and a diet Coke, I ordered beer batter fish and... More
