Finger Food in the Finger Lakes

Stopped recently at the FLX Wienery with another couple. It was our second visit and the food was as good as the first time. The fresh made burgers(cooked as requested to medium rare) were very good and the home made chips were a big hit. The Wienery has a very relaxed atmosphere and you can dine... read more

On our epic motorcycle ride, we stopped at FLX (we all ride Harleys and thought this was a play on HD model names - turns out FLX is short for Finger Lakes - who knew). The lady explaining the menu and ordering process is German and assured us the bratwurst were very authentic. The fries and chips are made in... More

The 4 of us just loved everything about this place! One of us is a chef from a 5 star restaurant and you know how picky chefs can be!The food, the service, the atmosphere all screamed of fabulousness! We all got something different and then shared some Lake Salt Fries and some Poutine. Just delicious! A fabulous end to a... More

Very inviting and helpful host. However standard burger ordered medium rare was well done and EXTREMELY salty. Didn't order much but was disappointed. Décor: rustic but boasting European wines (and nice assortment of craft beers, to their credit). Ate my salty burger outdoors in clean but equally rustic (neglected) outdoor area.

We stopped near closing on a Saturday. We had a brat and chorizo with poutine and fries. The fries were over cooked and had very little flavor. The poutine seemed to be an artisan version that failed. I guess we were looking for something like hand cut fries. The sandwiches had too much bun which itself was not distinctive. The... More

This gourmet hot dog shack is the best!! The "rock star" chef is obviously having fun. You pick out your wiener or burger (beef or chicken) and then the fun begins, add cheese and a wide variety of house made toppings. The food is fab and the whole place is just plain fun.

You't can't understand how great a hot dog can be until you've stopped at FLX Wienery. From the basic to the surreal the offerings won't disappoint. Don't miss the onion rings or the milkshakes. this is a gem on the lake that can please young and old alike.

We both got sick! Normally don't eat burgers/fires/hotdog/sausage but the place was packed at lunch time. I got sausage, which was pink in the center, with all kinds of stuff on it---uncooked crunchy kraut, mustard seed, fried onion rings... My partner got a burger with all kinds of stuff on it (fried onions, feta cheese, etc) and only ate half... More

To the newbie, the somewhat confusing menu board is explained by the energetic host and you're off to the races. There are lots of options to build the perfect gourmet burgers and dogs and a few suggested combinations and a great selection of beers. On execution, the burgers were excellent and the tubers disappointing. The braut with kraut was dry and... More

The food is nothing special. We had the chorizo sausage, which was dry and chewy. The hamburger was good, but the toppings (blue cheese, caramelized onions) overwhelmed it. The wedge salad was iceberg lettuce. They have a good beer list, including some Belgians. Prices are reasonable. You serve yourself.
