Surprisingly Good

We didn't expect much from a cabin motel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent and plentiful with included salad bar. Service was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is old school summer camp lodge and the attached bar is full of historic racing and archery paraphernalia... read more

Love the prime rib or the ribs on Saturday night. They also have a great salad bar.. Don't go on a race weekend however as the place will be packed with race car drivers.

We have been before but wanted to show this kitschy restaurant to our friends. They thought it was a bit pricey for a lodge restaurant but were just fine with it. I ordered the lamb kabobs; I remembered how good they were last time and they didn't disappoint! You serve your own salad; I ordered the "today's special" additional soup... More

Loved the raisin French toast! My husband just had eggs and toast, but liked them. New York State maple syrup was a $1 extra, but was worth it to me. We ate dinner in town, but did visit the bar in the evening. The atmosphere is great - very retro and certainly car-centric. We enjoyed it and the food was... More

Service was very good. I ordered Filet with Lobster Tail. The steak was cooked perfectly and flavorful. My Lady had Scallops with pasta which she said was very good. We were too full after dinner for dessert but there were so many goodies on the dessert menu that sounded tempting that we got flourless chocolate cake to go. That was... More

When in Watkins Glen for racing I and friends like to stay here and eat here. While we like to eat at other places as well, it can always be counted on for a solid meal and reasonable prices. They have a decent wine selection. We were able to get Stags Leap Cab. Now they are open for breakfast! The... More

I have been going there for years and always find the food very good. The place gets busy so be prepared to wait. The barroom is interesting!

We get it. This is the type of restaurant where the "vibe and history" supposedly trump good food and good service. That sums it up. The food is at best average ... we had stuffed sole and turkey entrees. Sole was quite bad ... turkey not too much better. Prices were on the high side too.

We obviously did not read reviews prior to staying one night, thankfully not more. The owners of this place charge too much and obviously do not put back into their property to make it appealing. The desk women at night did not make you feel welcome. We stayed in November so breakfast and lunch restaurant was closed during the off... More
